I just swallowed a 9v square battery, will it do me any harm?

I smell a phoney question here. If you did somehow manage to swallow a 9v battery without choking on it -- highly unlikely, BTW -- then your stomach would already be giving you fits. You'd probably be puking too hard to type.

Hi i work in a A/E dept and i seen many patients come in with the same thing.You need to get down the A/E dept straight away and i aint joking,batteries have an acid inside off them and once there in a stomach they start to release a acid which can kill you if left for a long time.Please get to A/E and get sorted out. Dont think so, my little brother swallowed one of those small round ones a few years ago and he just shat it out. I dont know what yours looks like or if its in good condition. If it leaks you could be in trouble.

um it probably wont leak, but it will mostly hydrolyzes some of your stomach acid to O2 and H2
Try eating some fiber to make passing it a little bit easier
I am no doctor and my advice would really be to talk to one

I would call a poison control center in your area. Batteries contain acid!

Not going to ask you how you managed to do that, but I would go to a ER room and have an xray done, your body may not be able to pass it (due to its size) and if it can't it will 'cause you some medical problems.

I would go to a and e.... i swallowed a ball bearing once and had an x-ray...really quite interesting...you may need help 'removing it' :(

listen personally i don't think it will efect you one bit if its in you then just see a doctor. listen if your that concerned the dont flip over the top other wise you will get upset and it will hurt. if you can still breath and it is not stuck in your throught then its ok ok?
