I think I might have computer vision syndrome. My job involves using a computer to answer mostly emails, with some phone calls. I also like to check my email when I get home as I'm not allowed to at work. Are there any tips you can think of to help me get through the next couple of days? I won't be able to go to the optometrist for almost two weeks, due to my busy schedule.

By the way, I'm using Refresh Tears for my eyes in the meantime.

My mother was complaining of shoulder pain and stiffness all day yesterday. She said it felt tight and sore. When she tried to lift her arm over her head, she started crying and stuff. At four o'clock this morning, she woke my dad up and he took her to the hospital. I only saw her in her room once. The doctors were talking about bone marrow and paralisis in her shoulder. She can move it if absolutely nessicary, but it hurts her alot. They are keeping her overnight and waiting for a bone specialist. Is it really serious? What could happen? Will she need major surgery? What could cause it? Please give as much information as possible.

The pain comes and goes. It was usually quick like a lightening bolt...but recently it has lasted longer...I checked out apendicitus and other things...but I have no other symptoms...just random pain especially when I lay down or sit up. Can anyone clarify?

For the last couple of years I've had arm pains, but they were maybe once a week, but now thier every day. they start with my shoulder then goes all the way to my fingers. my arms feel very weak and when i prop them on any thing they go to sleep. I can't even mop without them throbing. it's scarying me because it's affecting my every day things I need to do and i have three children to take care of. Could this be a pitched nerve?

Over the past couple of days, I have had quite bad pains in my feet. Around the heel and ball of my foot, each foot in the same areas. As the weather has changed considerably over the past couple of months I assumed it was down to the change in footwear, sometimes wearing scholls, sandles, trainers, work shoes etc. Does this sound logical or could there be other reasons for my pain.

I take them for my menstrual cramps and I usually take them before having eaten anything because the pain is so bad that I can't wait. It doesn't seem to work well when I do that so I was wondering if eating beforehand has to do with anything.

I am a young lady who always wanted to live a life of fun n excitement. A year and a half ago I developed a strange illness, I get severe pain in my neck n arms along with dizziness and vomiting. Its only gettin worse. I cant sleep, work, eat or exert for long n worst of all cant study properly. I have been pulling along for so long just in hope of someday getting over with it. My C.T n M.R.I fail to detect anything n docs just labelled me as cervical spondylitis coz they had no explanation(very unlikely for my age).
I dont want to live on medication for the rest of my life.I am getting the best of medical attention but at times I feel like jumping off a bridge( today is one of those bad days). Plz give me a reason why I shudn't do so n continue to battle it out...

I get this painful 'kink' in my neck about once year. It's so bad that I can't rotate my head to the left or right. It pretty much ruins my entire day from the pain and will last for a good 2-3 days.

On Sept 1st, I was at a concert. And afterwards my ears were ringing, no big deal, that always happens to me, so I go and try to sleep it off (as that is what normally happens). The next day, the ringing is still there, as well as the next day. Should I be worried about this? Or should it eventually go away by itself?

I can hear just fine, and the ringing is less *loud* as it was yesturday. But I am still worried about the fact I may be going deaf since the previous answers on here have been rather stern.

I normally visit these concerts in stadiums, big, open areas. However, the one from two days ago was in a rather smaller venue, maybe the size of a elementary school cafeteria.

Let me know anything you can tell me :\ Thanks.

I have suffered from back pain for years now, the pain can be excrutiating. I have permanent pain, but when it gets particularily bad my upper body tilts to the left.

It is quite a severe tilt and I cannot straighten up. The pain is in the base of the spine and travels down my right buttock. Driving or sitting makes it worse.

Do anyone know what the condition could be and what the treatment options are. My doctor just gives me painkillers and valium to relax the muscles - Im only 30 and dont want to put up with this any longer, it has been like this since I as 20 but has gotten worse in the last year.
