I meditate a lot and take a muscle relaxer or anti-anxiety pill to help with the pain in my hips and lower back that other meds can not touch. Sometimes it gets so bad it hurts to do anything but walk. I take a narcotic at night and during the day if I have to but for the most part exercise, meditating and stretching help the most, also having a understanding doctor is key (which I have) I use the mattress topper as well and breathing techniques to help when nothing else does.

I know some patients have wool bed toppers made for them. This seems to help patients sleep through the night without the pain waking them up. My mother-in-law has made mattress toppers, and chair pads for fibromyalgia patients. So far the patients have all had success in dealing with the sleep aspect of the pain.

I take 800 mg. of Aleve and a 1000-mg. flaxseed oil capsule every night at bedtime--if I don't, the pain and stiffness the next morning are unbearable and make it darn near impossible for me to walk. I also take Arnica tablets (a homeopathic herb) as needed for flareups. Check out the links below for information that I hope will help you find relief. Please let us know what works for you.
