I was diagnosed with gout about 2 years ago. I was in TERRIBLE pain. The attacks would occur repeatedly... especially if I walked too hard - like in airports.

My husband has gout and the ONLY thing that has helped him is Black Cherry capsules or concetrated Black Cherry juice both of which you can find at a health food store or GNC store. When he doesn't take it his big toe flares up and then he'll take his cherry and viola, he feels better.

You can also find them on vitacost.com I hope this helps. You also need to stay away from things that irritate it, pork, tomatoes, anything high in uric acid (even green chiles and beer) can cause outbreaks. Allupurinol and Endocin are the two things doc's prescribe the most but it didn't work for him so the cherry capsules do. If you try it let me know if it works.
