a slit steady pain most of time ?????

All the way to the elbow sounds like the cubal tunnel..possibly ulnar nerve.

A test called an EMG would be needed to be sure. You should see a doctor.

If it is hurting more than 48 hours have a doctor take a look.

It could be carpel tunnel.
