Ok so for a very long time I have been getting very painful headaches everyday. They kind of stopped for a while but before they stopped I had them every single day and the pain was horrible. It was usually in the back or the side of my head. Also when I would jump I would hear this sort of "thump" in my head as if my brain jumped along with me or something. Also last year I woke up one morning and my ears felt very different. I couldn't hear my swallowing like I used to and it was as if they have gotten a little deaf. But I could hear well. That feeling of "deafness" has been going on till this day. And this morning I felt a little bit of pressure in my ears again which makes them feel uncomfortable. I have no idea what this is but it has been going on for about 2 years. I told my mom everything but she keeps saying there's nothing wrong with me. I just want to know what's going on. Thank you.

I recently had knee surgery. My doctor was a provider for my Health plan so I was not responsible for his fees. However, he decided to solicit the help of an assistant from a group who was not in the plan's network. He did this without asking me and now I am to pay over 1200.00 to this Surgical Services Group! Am I responsible? I feel the doctor knew what insurance I had and should have consulted with me before the surgery about using them.

My 5-week old baby boy may have an inguinal hernia and his pediatrician recommended surgery at 6-months. In my reading of this condition I found that suregry should take place ASAP to avoid strangulation of the intestines. Does anyone have any insight to this?

I have some serious insomnia, but really really hate the thought of taking sleeping pills. I've had it all my life, and i usually get 4-5 hours of sleep a night (if that) with a nap inbetween here and there. It's nothing new, but i wouldn't mind getting a little more sleep... you know?
Know of any other options than that sparkly butterfly drug? (lol, i think it's lunesta. i hate those commercials.... "wish you were sleeping?" ofcourse i do, jerkface. Thanks for reminding me. Hahaha.

When training to hike Mt. Whitney this summer, I found out that I can slow my heart beat down by concentrating, imagining my heart pumping slower, and breathing big easy breaths. I have gotten my heart to slow down to about 32 bpm (8 beats in 15 seconds) but am afraid to go any slower.

I live on the 12th floor and run up my stairs ever day. Yesterday I decided to slow my racing heart beat, then I felt dizzy and I stumbled down onto the floor and immediately stopped concentrating. I got up after 5 seconds and I was fine. Lesson learned: my heart will slow down when ready and I shouldn't mess with it.

I am not going to just mess around, lowering my heart beat for fun. I am wondering what bad could happen from me consciously lowering my heart rate when I am not in desperate need of oxygen. Any help?

Thank you,
James

My hands turn very pallor very easily when i don't have a jacket. So pallor that they turn bluish in the palm, even when it's not that cold in the room. My wrists and fore arms are very pale, paler than the rest of my body, and you can see my veins easily. My mom thinks i'm anemic, am I?

Sometimes when I'm talking to people I just start to stutter. I say the beginning of the word over and over, or just open and close my mouth until I can finally get the word out; and also when I get into one of theses 'fits' I have a VERY hard time coming up with simple words. Examples: Picnic, school, book, tree, quilt, camera...

It couldn't possibly be because I'm nervous. I don't stutter when I talk with people I should be nervous with. I stutter when I talk with my parents, my friends...sometimes even when I talk to my dog I stutter!

I'd say it happens 1-2 times a week, where I can't "find" my words and my mind short-circuits, causing me to stutter.

Why could this be?
