why deny ill people treatment?

i just dont understand how someone can get a sex change on nhs but someone terminally ill is denied treatment!!
also a woman can have breast enlargement on nhs cause she is depressed with her small **** but a woman who has boobs too big she in pain with backache and blisters cant get reduction on nhs??????

Isnt it to do with control? And like someone said... money!!! The government and systems like to pass the buck when it comes to making decisions about how funding is used. So instead of them performing life saving operations they say that you cant have the operation due to either you being a smoker or overweight, or any other reason they can think of in order to use that money for someone else. I believe everyone has a right to treatment for as long as you've paid your national insurance all your life you should be able to receive treatment. Its not like you live in the states or other countries where you pay for your treatment via health insurance... We've paid for this through our wages etc. To be denied something you've paid for isnt right. And as usual you're being told 'no', you cant have or do or whatever. Cosmetic surgery isnt as life saving as a new kidney or heart by pass, although i do accept that it may have psychological effects. But to give cosmetic surgery priority over other more life threatening conditions is disgusting.

People getting reductions CAN get covered on the NHS thankfully. You have to jump through a lot of hoops though.

Unfortunately, people getting implants can also be covered, which I think is hogwash, its purely a self esteem issue and should not be covered.

The terminally ill should also be approved treatment as well.

Sadly to say it's all about money, there is a man at the moment taking his PCT to the court of human rights cause he is not in an area that will pay. Lots of the treatments are postcode lottery. I know of someone who had a breast reduction it was her GP who pushed it for her, maybe in another area she wouldn't get it.

I wish they stop classifying cases, we should all be equally entitled to treatment, no matter what.

Another argument is why treatment for something like IVF can be a lottery depending on where you live? I thought we were living in a democratic country, obviously I was wrong.
