I have some serious insomnia, but really really hate the thought of taking sleeping pills. I've had it all my life, and i usually get 4-5 hours of sleep a night (if that) with a nap inbetween here and there. It's nothing new, but i wouldn't mind getting a little more sleep... you know?
Know of any other options than that sparkly butterfly drug? (lol, i think it's lunesta. i hate those commercials.... "wish you were sleeping?" ofcourse i do, jerkface. Thanks for reminding me. Hahaha.

Try avoiding anything with caffeine in it after 12 pm, and exercise vigorously in the day/afternoon to expend all the pent up energy. Also, when you're laying in bed, try focusing on clenching and releasing all of your muscle groups one at a time, and taking long, deep breaths. Play soothing music (may I suggest Gregorian Chants, or nature sounds, like thunder storms or rain forest sounds).
If none of that works, perhaps try masturbating. It is scientifically proven to release endorphins and relaxants into the body which should put you to sleep pretty fast.
Good luck.

LOL. try listening to music.
i use to have the same problem i would sleep like for 4 hours each night. and i didn't want to take any pills..but it was cus my mind would wonder a lot music helps me focus on just the song and drown out the rest of my thoughts (any kind of music: the slow rain forest, ocean sounds do not work for me. i need lyrics. and guitars.). so i would forget all the things on my mind and then fall asleep. recently i sleep a good 6 hours now. oh yeah you shouldn't have caffeine or anything with a lot of sugar and don't eat before sleeping either.

Drink a cup of Chamomile Tea in the evenings for relaxation. This works wonderful for sleep. Also take one tablet of calcium and magnesium at night. Both of these will help you sleep better.
