My hands turn very pallor very easily when i don't have a jacket. So pallor that they turn bluish in the palm, even when it's not that cold in the room. My wrists and fore arms are very pale, paler than the rest of my body, and you can see my veins easily. My mom thinks i'm anemic, am I?

Sounds like it to me, but you should definitely get checked out by a doctor. You may need to be put on some iron supplements. First try eating more red meat and dark green vegetables. Also, some other ways you could look for anemia without a blood test- just to see if you think you have it (before you go to the doctor). Take and gently pull down your lower eyelid- it should be dark pink- if it is light or white- that's a good sign you are anemic. Also your gums- pull down your lower lip and see the color of your gum. It too should be dark pink- if light pink or white you could be anemic. The other way you can tell is to press on your fingernail. You will be able to see it turn white- the color should return fairly quickly, if it takes more than a few seconds for it to turn back to its original color- you could be anemic. Also- extreme fatigue is a good sign of anemia. Hope this helps and you feel better.

It could also just be bad blood circulation, go to a doctor and have them check it out.

Anemia is low iron in your blood and it causes sensitivity to cold and your always tired. Here are the symptoms.
What Are The Symptoms Of Anemia?

A person with anemia will feel tired and weak because the body's tissues are being starved of oxygen. In fact, fatigue is the main symptom of most types of anemia. The severity of symptoms is in part related to the severity of anemia. Mild anemia can occur without symptoms and may be detected only during a medical exam that includes a blood test.

Symptoms of anemia include:

Fatigue

Weakness

Fainting

Breathlessness

Heart palpitations (rapid or irregular beating)

Dizziness

Headache

Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

Difficulty sleeping

Difficulty concentrating

Common signs include:

Pale complexion

The normally red lining of the mouth and eyelids fades in color

Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)

Abnormal menstruation (either absence of periods or increased bleeding)

Other signs depend on the cause of the anemia. These can include spoon-shaped finger nails and toenails in iron-deficiency anemia, mildjaundice in hemolytic anemias, and leg ulcers in sickle cell anemia .

Anemia is based on the levels of hemoglobin in your blood, not how easily your veins are seen, or how blue your hands or palms turn in cold weather.

So based on that alone, no, you aren't anemic. It sounds like a circulation problem. It you have pain in your extremities, you may want to follow-up with a doctor.

Have your doctor check for anemia; mom may be right to be concerned, but there's no way to know without the appropriate blood test.

i've heard if you are pale and don't get your color back then you're dehydrated. but a doctor can take blood and test it. my wife was shown to be alittle anemic, then later she wasn't, then she was again..if anything take some iron vitamins go to a doctor, because one thing can be affected by something totally different
