is it bad for an adolescent [like me, 15 years old] to be sleeping 8 hours a night or less?? i know that it causes temporary things like fatigue, but my real question is does it cause permanent damage? by permanent damage i mean stuff like brain damage, slowed down growth, other mental health issues.

I was told that I need ankle arthroscopy to get my ankle flushed out. I was wondering about how long my recovery time would be, how long the surgery would take, and if so, about how long it would take for me to go back to work. I am also wondering what the surgery is called when you get your ankle "flushed out". Thank you all very much!

I am so tired when my alarm goes off in mornings. I am basically healthy. I never drink or smoke. I never have energy in the mornings. What should I do to get zest for life to wake up and say "Hooray! I'm alive and full of energy!" I'm 41 years old now and just tired a lot of times probably from financial worries and having a stressful job with boss. I have problem hearing the alarm go off. I sleep about 7 hours a night. I take a sleeping pill 15 mg of temazepam and can't sleep without it because I'm on an anti-depressant called Effexor to deal with yelling boss. Any serious suggestions would be happy to try.

I've got an ear infection and the fluid in my left ear is making me so dizzy that it's hard to function unless I'm sitting down. When I get up it's terrible. I'm on antibiotics for it but it's not helping the dizziness. I took 2 dramamine as well and that's not helping either. Are there are home remedies or over the counter medications I can take to make this go away or atleast help it somewhat? I feel like everything around me is spinning and like I'm going to throw up at a moment's notice. Any advice would be much appreciated.. thanks

Hi, my friends mother has had a host of mental and physical problems. She's at the point where she needs permanent care. She's had everything from seizures and strokes to severe bladder trouble. Her mind is also starting to go. Her daughter is doing her best to take care of her but she really needs help. The patient is 58 years old and really needs to be in a nursing home. She is on medicaid, and will get medicare next month. Her zipcode is 60411 in Illinois. The problem is, from what I'm told, a lot of nursing homes don't take patients untill they are around 63. I'm wondering what can be done about this because she really needs to be in a home, she is in and out of the hospital a few times a month. Any information on homes that accept younger patients in the general area, and what the requirements are, etc, would be very much appreciated.

its a very funny incident. i was very scared of needles n injections that doctors use.
when i was just 8 yr old, my mom took me to doctor for injection. i was not aware of that, but when i came to knew that i started shouting very loudly
it was impossible for doctor to give me injection, so my mom had to clamp her hand on my mouth to smother my screams. she kept her hand tightly pressed on my mouth until doctor was finished with his job
if she wouldnt had covered my mouth, i would have created a scene out there coz i was screaming really hard
this incident really makes me laugh till now
and what more, it was winter season that time and my mom was wearing thick skin tight leather gloves. now just tell me, is it possible for 8 yr old to make a noise in that situation?
my screams were totally suffocated.
do u think that my mom did the right thing at that moment? n why?

i have asked this question in d category" jokes n riddles". but it can be put in this category also.

Hi, My father is 87 years old and he needs medical care. His legs burn at night. I was wondering what is the best country I can go to, to get medical care for the lowest cost. I heard for instance that India has some great hospitals, for 1/4 the price of a similar hospital in the U.S.
Thank You

Lately people have been pointing out to me that my lips keep turning blue, i often feel really cold when the weather isn't that bad but sometimes i don't even feel that cold when my lips turn blue. My hands also change to a kind of yellow and purplish colour when they aren't that cold either. At night i often feel overly warm, it sometimes keeping me awake. Does anyone know a reason for this?

In November, my knee became painful. In January I went to the Doctor who diagnosed arthritis, without even touching my knee. He sent me for X-rays, which show nothing. Because I was in pain he decided to inject the knee, but it didn't help I asked to be referred to a physio, to see if exercises would help.
After the injection I thought my leg was a bit swollen, but he didn't seem that worried. Yesterday I actually got to see the physio and he took one look at my leg and freaks. I have fat legs, I hadn't realised that my leg was actually quite swollen. The physio phoned the doctor, and now I'm being referred to both the orthopaedic surgeon, and someone to look at the circulation in my leg. The physio thinks that there may be damage to the cartilage and a Bakers cyst, rather than arthritis.
Do you think a physio will know better than my GP?
What can I expect from the specialists?
Should I be worried about the swelling, its not red or painful?
Any guesses to what this is?
