Did you have any problems afterward? What was your recovery time? Having it done this week and any info is appreciated. :-)

yes, the worst thing that should happen afterwards is temporary diarrhea, I was ready for work again after 2 weeks and I had very bad vomiting for 5 or 6 days afterwards compliments of being intolerant to the anaesthetic. Just eat bland foods for a week or so aft, and you should be able to resume normal life in about 10 days to 3 weeks, depending on how tolerant you are to pain.

I had mine done about 9 years ago as an outpatient procedure. I didn't have any major problems at all. In fact, the worst thing I went through was trying to get out of bed the next morning...it's a little hard to sit up. I was back to work, at a job where I was on my feet 10 hours at a time, 5 days after the surgery. You should be fine..Good Luck :)

I had gallbladder stones and needed my gull bladder removed due to the pain. Surgery was not that bad I had three puncture sites on my stomach. The one at my belly is bigger than my other two. If I had a six pack the puncture sites would be at to corners of the top of my six pack. Surgery was cool, and I left the same day. I had surgery at a surgery center. I had pain but nothing compared to gull stone pain. I was up and around the very next day with mild discomfort.

No problems at all, tiny little scar that fades quickly, know one can even notice. recovery time will be a few days. You should be able to go back to the normal foods you were eating before. I have talked to others who have had this done and some experienced some oozing from the stitches. This never happened to me, just take it easy. you will be fine...

I've had my galbladder removed through the keyhole operation and am very happy with it. I was back up and running around within 4 days. it really went fast. I've had in total 3 keyhole operations, two more to remove pieces of my bowels and am still very happy with the procedure... I also take the fast-recovery-protocol. it means you eat normally immediately. it worked for me to recover faster. but that has to be allowed. the removal of the galbladder is not so bad. very minor really. the whole entourage of aranging everything is more of a bother than the procedure itself.

Not me, I had my gallbladder taken out the old fashion way, and glad I did. Please watch for any signs of infection after the surgery. If you start to have a fever, please call your doctor immediately. Of course, being an ICU nurse, I see the worst of things, and you can become very ill if your bowels are 'accidentally' nicked during this seemingly 'simple' procedure. I'm not telling this to scare you, just beware afterward to be in tune with your body. Good luck.

I did. they are going to fill your abdominal cavity with air so you'll feel discomfort from that for about a week. it took me about two weeks to fully recover. ALSO you'll have to be careful what you eat because if you eat the wrong thing (greasy stuff, etc) you'll have to RUN to the bathroom!
