Just from my own personal experience,I have had 1 horrible bout with a dizziness called Vertigo. It started out as very mild spinning and progressed until I couldn't sit up for a week. It can be treated and sooner is better. Next will come the nausea from the spinning,I suppose that would be similar to motion sickness. If it is Vertigo it will be coming from the middle ear and will have nothing at all to do with the other things you mention.

I have also been on Toprol 100 mg for years and have never had a problem.

Hope this helps and hope he will see a doctor soon if not feeling better.

Any type of medication that is generally prescribed as a blood pressure med has normal and abnormal side affects. Although it was prescribed for something other than BP, it still could be causing the same issues. He has been on the medication way too long to just wean himself off. He needs to see his cardiologist and verify that he is gradually weaning himself off slow enough. He may also have irregular blood pressure and it may be dropping which could cause these dizzy spells. I'm not a doctor, so I can't diagnose the problem. But from the number of patients I've had with this same problem, these were the outcomes. I would recommend seeing his Cardiologist. Dizziness isn't a normal or safe thing.

he needs to see a doctor. they'll probably take scans of his cerebellum and hypothalamus, since his balance is off and his sleeping habits are irregular. Maybe these symptoms are side effects off whatever he's taking. So make him give it a break and if the problems persist and worsen go to the doctor.

He may be having trouble also because pain pills contain endophins which are natural neurotransmitters in the brain. If a person continually takes these pills the brain will stop producing these endorphins because they are being artificially supplied. So it's going to take some work.

I would have called a Dr. 10 minutes ago. This guy has too many things going on. I was having dizzy spells and it was my blood pressure medication. I could have died. Get this straightened out QUICK.

probably has to do with coming off the pills he was on before. Best to have his blood pressure checked and blood drawn to make sure everything else is okay. Hard to tell without an exam.

It's very possible it's from weaning off the medication, it can also be an inner ear problem, he should speak to his doctor, just to play it safe.
