Pseudoephedrine is typically used in non-drowsy medicines, and the Sudafed with this ingredient is supposed to not put you to sleep.
BUT everyone reacts differently and even medicine designed to be non-drowsy can adversely affect you. Bear in mind that there are also non-pseudoephedrine versions that are also non-drowsy but based off of a different drug.
If you want to take it, you're going to need to take a pill out of the box - read what it says regarding possible side effects. If it says "drowsiness may occur" or "do not operate heavy machninery" you might be out of luck.
If you plan on going to the store, bear in mind that the pharmacy counter must be open if you want any pseudoephedrine based medicines due to its potential for abuse and the manufacture of illegal drugs.

It really does differ. For example whenever I take a drug with pseudoefedrin(Modafen) i dont feel any pains and it does its job as a decongestant well, but I always get super-extra tired. I even fall asleep sitting. Sleep is a good thing.. But not during a third period class.
But, my brother is always hyped when he takes anything with pseudoefedrin. The thing is, pseudoefedrin is supposed to elevate your blood pressure therefore it should make your heart pump faster and that should make you hyped or give you the feeling of freshnes and energy.

If you aim to take it then surely you will have the packet and the instructions will tell you what you need to know.
You shouldn't really be taking medication based on a Yahoo answers.
However, for what it's worth I have a packet of Sudafed in the bathroom cabinet that is labeled "non drowsy"....whether it actually works of course is another matter.

Pseudoephedrine can be used to make meth. So it can cause excitability in people. In fact some people take it just for the "perk up" factor even if they don't have allergies or sinus issues. In people like me, it causes rapid heart beat and sleeplessness. Not good. So I have to avoid all decongestants and cold/flu medicines which often include this drug in combination with others.

It knocks you out thats why some people look for something without it when they need to stay awake. Try Dayquil or something similar that says it does not have sudafed. In most places now you need to show an ID to buy sudafed.

I don't know, but I do know that it makes me sick. I was told that if I took it again, it would kill me. And I'm not alone on this one. There are a lot of people who can't take pseudoephidrine. It's dangerous stuff, please be careful with it.
