What can I do to keep me from being so sleepy during the day? I drink caffeine in moderation. Like maybe one or two cans of diet coke per day and that doesn't wake me up. Is there some type of over the counter pill I can take? Also, my eyes are really blurry all the time, comparable to how it looks when you first wake up. Could these two things be associated?

Health insurance companies refuse to insure patients with preexisting conditions, health care professionals are rude, fees are through the roof, and the few health care providers who treat w/o insurance, do so in a mediocre fashion. I'm almost ashamed to be pursuing a career in medicine.

Some days I feel pressure, but not really pressure, it is hard to explain, I just feel different in my head/body, when I rub my eyes and open them I see the world like looking through a bottle of Goldschläger. Little gold flakes seem to fall or float in my vision. This lasts for only a few moments as the "pressure" feeling subsides.

My eyes feel kind of like a glaucoma test has been done as well, sort of dry and swollen and irritated, but nothing really bad. This vision thing is more of a concern then a pain thing as I am curious to know if it is signaling something else. I am in my late 30's so I don't think this is normal for people in my age group either.

I quit drinking about 10 years ago, I quit smoking 3-4 months ago, but this symptom has gone on for a long time (like 20+ years), it just seems to be happening more and more lately.

Anyone got an idea what this could be?

I really enjoy smoking. I've had no problems over the past ten days, but I miss it. I've smoke since I was 14, now I'm 39. I've heard some people can smoke and have virtually no physical problems from it--I think I may be one of those people. If that's the case, I wanna start again! Any others out there like me?

In the last month, twice I've woken up in the middle of the night choking like crazy, then have to keep coughing to clear up my windpipe and get my breath back. Is this something to worry about or does it happen every now and then? Oh and what should I do if this happens again in the night because I sleep alone and there will be no one to help me get my breath back etc.

I recently moved into an apartment. I was recently inside the apartment of my elderly neighbor, an over 70 woman who lives by herself. She was smoking a cigarette with an oxygen tube in her nose. I saw the oxygen tank nearby, but I don't know if the oxygen was turned on or not. She gets government "Section 8" to help her pay her apartment rent.
Is it illegal for her to do this, and how dangerous is it. Is there likely to be an explosion and I will die ? Can I report this situation to anyone, such as police or local health department or "Section 8 government housing" office.
