You'd get a more accurate answer from his physical, occupational and speech therapists... It depends so much on the severity of the damage and what areas were effected.

Here are some resources:

I would think that depends on your dad. How much is he willling to work to get well???Some patients just give up. Be with your dad. Sorta like being his coach. How bad was the stroke??Is one of his sides completely paralized or is it even that bad??You really should have gave a little more info. But to tell you the truth it is really up to him. He's gonna need a whole lot of support.I will be praying for you and your family.

Most recovery comes within six months to a year after a stroke

It varies from person to person, with factors like age and fitness.

Your doctor will be able to tell you more. But some patients make gradual improvements over many years, whilst some return to near full-fitness over a very short period of time.

Due to the nature of this condition it would be very difficult to say.

You can't EXPECT anything--except a worsening condition. You can hope and pray for improvement in his condition. Every stroke case is different...

There is no telling really, there are those that have full recoveries in a year or two, and some that never recover at all. All you can do is continue to encourage and help him to achieve what potential he may have.

Every case is different and it depends on the person and how hard they are willing to work for it and what they will allow themselves to accept.
