The truth is, anything from no pain at all to severe chest pain, or pain of some kind anywhere on your body. I know that doesn't help much....
Typical symptoms are, chest pain that goes to your arm.
Keep in mind, the pain does not have to be on the left side and it does not have to be severe.

Like the nurse said you never know you just have to look at the symptoms. In my case in 2001 I had been doing a lot of clean up work from a bad ice storm we had here and my original pain started in my back and i thought i had pulled a muscle and as the pain got worse and spread to my shoulder, arm, and chest for 3 and a half hours i would not go to the hospital and when i finally did it was almost too late. I woke up 28 days later with only a 12% ejection ratio and had to have a transplant in 2003. the best thing to do if you even think it might me a heart attack is go to the emergency room or call an ambulance. The faster you get treatment the better.

the only true way to find out if you are having a heart attack is to seek medical attention. they will do an ekg and blood work, and may possibly do other tests. If you are experiencing chest pain, that does not go away, that may be associated with nausea (tummy upset), shortness of breath, radiation of pain to your arms, neck, jaw, or back. these could all be symptoms and should not be ignored
