Hey I am a doctor, most medications last for years even though all pharmacies will put an expiration date 1 year from filling rx.

Most medications have an expiration date visible on the bottle. I don't know of any that stay effective after 4 years. I would recommend you have your doctor write you a new presctiption.

As long as the bottle has been stored in a dark place, and not exposed to direct light, it's probably ok to use. Shake it up and look to see if it's cloudy looking. If it is cloudy, do not use it. Otherwise, it should be ok if it's been stored properly.
