Assuming that your staying awake so much because of studying, as Amy F states, I remember in my days of college ( I now have three university degrees and all the necessary licenses and certificates to practice my skills) that a good shower and shave and brushing the teeth were great methods to get started. Of course then I'd go to breakfast, which kind of "moderated" my waking experience, and then I'd walk across campus to class. The walking got the blood circulating and the oxygen flowing into the brain cells. Now, and for quite some time now, I have a bit of coffee after breakfast to get started too. I wish I had started on the drinking of coffee earlier since it is such a benefit (so long as it's FRESH coffee and not something that was made hours ago and been sitting on the burner since then). But the showering, etc., and breakfast followed with coffee (no fancy lattees or cappucinos necessary; just the good ol' cheap black stuff works fine - cream and sweetner as you like), AND the WALK to campus if you live on or near campus is a GREAT regimen to get started on. Of course, the wisdom I've attained over the years since college tells me one additional thing. If you prioritize your time better, and focus on your studying needs better, you'll find you can actually get more time in the sack (for sleeping purposes) and you'll be able to wake better in the morning. And if alcohol or drugs are a noticeable part of your daily regimen, you'll want to think about dropping some of if not all of it. I wish I could convince my son of that now. He's in college too, and he doesn't prioritize his college requirements well, and, being HIS dad, he doesn't pay attention to me well. Hopefully you will, and I can feel somewhat successful in my loving, constructive parenting instincts. My son is 23. God Bless you.

Are you staying up late because of studying, working, or partying? Just wondering.
You can get more sleep than that. I know this because I am a mother of 4, but when I was in college full time, I had 2 kids, and I worked a part time job, studied, took care of my house, etc.
I would make a schedule of activities for yourself and see if there is an area in your life that you can cut back on so you can get more rest. The only other solution is lots and lots of coffee.

Take a shower, brush your teeth and EAT AN APPLE.

Honestly -- I read an article once that said apples are better for 'waking up' in the morning than coffee!

It can't hurt to try.
