What can I do to keep me from being so sleepy during the day? I drink caffeine in moderation. Like maybe one or two cans of diet coke per day and that doesn't wake me up. Is there some type of over the counter pill I can take? Also, my eyes are really blurry all the time, comparable to how it looks when you first wake up. Could these two things be associated?

Your diet is a big part of how much energy you have. Make sure your food intake is complete and pulls from all the food groups. Also, a multi-vitamin might help to give you energy just in case your body is lacking a certain nutrient it really needs. I take prenatal-vitamins because they are packed full of nutrients and they are especially great for shiny hair and strong nails. As for the blurry vision, that sounds like something you either need to talk to your doctor or an optometrist about.

try adding some sleep time to your scedule -- i find 7 1/2 -9 is best.

workaholics will try to convince you you can get by on less and that is bunk -- there is a reason they look 80 when they are 40.

sounds like you might have a sleep problem too -- if you sleep lightly and wake frequently you aren't getting very good sleep. there is such a thing as sleep quality. most medications and alcohol at bedtime make this worse.

you can try melatonin to help you establish an earlier sleep schedule. you can get it at walmart in with the herbs and vitamins -- not with the sleeping pills. i use melatonin and 5 htp if i need to re-regulate my sleep schedule. melatonin is a fabricated version of the stuff your brain pumps at night to make you sleepy and 5 htp is a seratonin balancer - kind of like a mild antidepressant that helps a lot of people sleep. take them an hour before bedtime and then relax with some mint tea or something. even the old milk and cookies will help you relax -- its a protein/sugar combo that tells your brain to crash.

You may need to have your doctor check you for diabetes because blurred vision is one of the first signs of high blood sugar. Caffeine is a stimulant so when it wears off you can be more tired than you would have been to start with. Also, caffeine is a diuretic so you may not have enough fluids which will leave you sluggish and tired. To figure the amount of fluids you need each day you divide your body weight in 2 and drink that many ounces....so, divide the ounces by 8 to see how many glasses a day that you need.

You will probably get lots of different answers. You need to go to a doctor. There are so many different reasons this could be happening. Physical or mental. They are libel to try to say depression. Make them check other medical reasons. I don't know the answer to if your vision and being tired are related. It's probably a good idea to go to an eye doctor also.
A good balanced diet and exersize may help. Still go to the doctor.

Go to your doctor and get a BMI (Body Mass Index) done. It's a simple test to look at your body's levels. Sugar, potassium, protein, blood pressure, cholesterol, stuff like that. More than likely you'll have to change your diet. It's amazing how your body can react if or when you change a couple of things in your daily diet.

sleep disturbances can cause your symptom of sleep deprivation. Possible that your mattress is old and lumpy or sleep apnea.

The blurry vision wouldn't last all day normally unless there was a systemic problem. just an idea, maybe allergies?

The blurry vision may warrant a doctors visit, as it can be a symptom of hypertension.

Go see your doctor about the vision problem. He might recommend a good sleep pill, too. There are plenty of OTC sleep remedies out there. It sounds as if you are not getting deep sleep. This could be a form of sleep apnea. My advice: see your doctor. It couldn't hurt.
