If you Peirce your skin with the pen you could get ink poisoning. but if you just write on yourself then you can't get sick

It's nothing to do with writing on yourself, or with ink. If getting ink on an open wound caused sickness then anyone with a tattoo would be in big trouble. The problem is that odds are the pen you're using isn't all that clean and getting bacteria into an open wound creates the problem, not the ink itself.
