Injuries - September 2007

Ok, i broke my leg playing baseball. Fibula and tibia in 3 places all together. They put metal plates in my leg, and right now im in the hospital recoverying from surgery. How long do you think it will take to heal? How long until i can walk/run again? And lastly, how long do you think the cast will be on for and what will come after that? Also, please don' tell me to just ask my doctor or nurse.

I fractured my growth plate and now i am on crutches for 3 -6 weeks. Anyway to jazz up my crutches and to prevent my armpits from like detaching from my shoulder. Its only the first couple of hours and my arms are me.

This is really gross. I burned my finger this morning pressing my hair because i'm clumsy and my finger bubbled up on me. Well, just a sec ago, I had my hand in between my legs and was kind of sitting on it reading something on the computer and it burst. What is this liquid? It doesn't smell like anything and it has no color?

Everytime i blink it feels like i have something in my eye, theres a small lump at the side of my eyelid. I woke up in the night it was really swollen and puffy. I had a chazalion about 1year ago and it was there for ages! Please, can someone help me so i dont get another one of theses horrible things!

My friend was in a car wreck, and now she is braindead! Is there any way that she can come out of this? She is young, and was very healthy, always ate right and exercised.

Has anyone ever been known to recover in this condition? Also, I'm wondering if she might be able to hear people if they talk to her.

After working a long day in a physical job (stretching, lifting and squatting), I had a pain in my left knee. I thought it was from working physically, since my regular job is more stationary. The pain felt like a bruise, but I don't remember doing anything that would have caused this feeling. Four days later I had a bump with a slight purplish tinge to it. The bump is somewhat painful when touched. But, it really hurts when I squat down and try to get back up. Or, when I go up or down stairs. I went to the doctor and he said that he isn't sure what it is and the x-rays came back normal. It isn't a bone spur. He is sending me to an orthopedic doctor. Any thoughts on what this could be? It is on the TOP of the patella, so it isn't Osgood-Schlatter disease. Thanks!

I`m very active. i play basketball, volleyball & i dance. my knee is kinda ment to be in pain. anyways, i went to the doctor because i was getting this pain in my left knee & it was all swollen. she said that my tendents overstreched & it caused inflammation to my bone & muscle. & it only happens when i jump. or when im active. she said it's most likely going to be on & off for the next year. so it stopped hurting for a month. now it started hurting again. i dance everyday & play basketball everyday. & i ice it regurarely. but it still hurts. what can i do to make it feel better?
im a girl btw, if that helps. & im not old. im 13

Ok it hurts so bad....even when im not putting any pressure on it. help please...what can I do till I see a doctor. I know ita an infected ingrown toenail. Its just the worst pain i've ever felt.

I am having the EMG test for carpal tunnel in one hand and wrist. Does this hurt? I am fine with needles but the electrical shocks do not sould too spiffy. Has anyone had this done in their hand? On a scale of 1-10 (7 being a bee sting) how bad does this test hurt? I thought it was a Nerve conduction test but they said EMG. A friend of mine said it was a ----.

Bodily injury / Which My Leg was Broken into three parts above my knee and below my hip.

I have been in bed for the atlist more than three months.

And The only thing ALL-STATE Insurance Could do for me is give me five thousand dollars and tell me to shut up.

Thru out my hilling proces the Bills it self was way over 80 grand.

Now not only I have a very BIG Hospital Bill.
But I have bills on my own living status.

What Am I sappose to do.
Needing Help with your thoughts.

my knee hurts when i stand up or sit down not when im walking, unless it turns a certain way it really hurts on my right knee on the outer right side its like right abovethe knee actually it really hurts when i go from sitting or standing or from standing to sitting whats wrong with me how caN i fx it theres no bruiseing and earlier today it like hurt from below the knee on the outer right side all the way down to the top of my foot but that dosent hurt now help

I just don't know. My left arm has been troublesome for a few weeks and now my right a little. Pressure, pain, tingling.. I went to the ER a few weeks ago and the doctor didn't think it was a cardiac episode..... but I just don't understand this. Can a pinched nerve cause these things, like in the neck?

Well, A few years ago, when I was about 9-10, I sliced open the webbing between my left point finger and my left thumb. Only until now I have noticed I could never bend my left thumb, I can't make a good fist because its always pointing straight.

Was it slicing my Hand open that rendered my thumb unbendable, or was it from birth, because I don't remember doing anything else that could harm my thumb.

I have been hit in a certain area of my body as a child by my parents - many times that area had blood seeping through the pores of the skin when my punishment was done. That area was hit with a stick or fishing pole with about 100 or so swats on a nearly daily basis since I was 3. It was excruciatingly painful when I was little, and when I was about 10, I experienced the same damage, but very little or no pain or a numb feeling. That area to this day has no pain sensitivity and it is pinkish red and the mark would be very noticeable even from a distance, It is very sensitive to cold, but feels no heat. I have not been hit in that area since I was 18. Will that area always be pinkish red and not sensitive? Could there be nerve damage?

in my soccer game today i got tackled, and a girls foot rammed into mine- now my big toe is swollen in the middle joint, has some black and blue discoloration on the inside and on the swelling and i cannot bend it at the joint... is my toe broken??? if so, what can i do to help it??

Ok so I just got my ears pierced like 4 weeks ago and now my ears aren't swollen and don't hurt anymore so I am thinking of just going to a 14 gauge taper that I got from Hot Topic. How should I go about doing this and this may be a stupid question but how exactly do I put the taper in, like pointy end through the front or back? Also can I use the taper for just regular jewelry later on if I wanted to, cuz for some reason I heard someone say that they should only be used for stretching.

i was in a cast for 24 days after my arthroscopic knee surgery and its been a day, and i can barely move it an inch. it feels very tight on the knee and extremely weak. is it normal?what can i do to help. is time the key factor for me?? any help or input appreciated.
