Injuries - September 2007

My husband was playing with my daughter on a pair of power boots "Springy stilts" and after only 3 minutes he fell and broke both his arms and dislocated his wrist.
What avoidable injuries have you suffered. Although i'm the one suffering i can tell you.

My uncle was screwing in a light bulb except I didnt know so I flipped the switch and he shook for a few minutes and fell off the ladder on his head and then smoke came off of him...He just laying here on the floor unconcious!!! PLEASE HELP! and 911 thinks I'm just playing a joke! THEY DONT BELIEVE ME!

must have had a convulsion. not going to emergency room. forget about that suggestion. i a using penicillin and listererine. have some hydrogen peroxide. anyother ideas. may have had a stroke because i just cannot get it togehter and remember details. i understand if you cannot suggest anything useful.

Okay here's what happened. I sprained my ankle about three weeks ago during a soccer practice. It still hurts to run but my mom is making me go to practice. I'm the captain which means I'm the best. We have a really hard game coming up and I really want to play. What should I do so I can play? The game's in three days!!!!!

I had a c section almost 4 years ago and for the last few days the scar has been very painful and sore.
I took a look at it this morning and its VERY red irriated and very hot to the touch. My friend seems to think its an infection but how can i get an infection in something that healed almost 4 years ago??

i have phoned my drs surgery and im waiting on someone contacting me back to see if i have to go see the dr or maybe get some antibiotics but in the mean time i was wondering had anyone experienced this or know what could be wrong.
ive done nothing out of the ordinary recently so im kinda baffled as to why i would be in so much pain.

Sunday Night (it's now Thursday) I fell off our 5 foot high porch, I have a significant bruise on my hip, went to the ER, nothing broken. Today, the bruise is black with a yellow and red center and has spread down my leg. Do I need to go back to the ER?

ok i fell of a skateboard and bump my head in the semenet wen i was down i felt like i was a sleep for a coupel of sec and now i hav e a huge bump in my left side of head i was bleading a lil is it a concusion should i see a doctor imideatly what do i do to chill it down? will i die if a go to sleep?

for no reason atall, it was just a randomunprovoked attack. but it was bad! i think they done it because the other day he broke his arm and they knew he didn't stand a chance against that many of them. well, my point is he's hurt. bad. he needs 2 get 2 hospital but he's refusing 2 go. hes acting really weird. hes crying and hes getting annoyed because we keep telling him he needs 2 go 2 the hospital. and he's got facial injuries. and theres a lot of blood. i'm scared. please help me. i dont know what 2 do or what 2 say 2 him . he's 19 :(

my foot hurts really bad about where my foot and second toe meet. There is no swelling. Right now I made crutches out of two brooms because it hurts to walk.

I have been doing produciton line work at a company for two years, a few months ago i started getting pain and numbness in my hand. I now have to have a nerve transposition in my elbow and will be out for a month. this kind of problem is caused by force trauma, which i have not had, or repetitive use of the elbow. I do repetative motions all day at work. Does this seem like it should be a workmans comp case?

My boyfriend got hit in the eye by a box a week ago. On monday he started feeling pain and it has now progressed to his bottom eyelid being red and swollen and hurts him when he blinks. But there is no head , its not watering, pussing, or anything. It is just very swollen. He isnt sure if it is even from him being hit in the eye or if it is an infection. Anyone have any suggestions?

Has anyone ever had back problems? How did you injure it? Will it ever get better? After surgery or anything else they can do to help? I fell off a 30ft tower during basic training in the Army. That was in 82. Every so often I put my back out I have to actually crawl to the tub and draw a hot bath so I can stand. And of course the Army says it's fine they don't see any problems. As I get older I hate to think what I'll be like in my retirement years?

Yesterday while i was playing a game the required 2 basketballs, i got hit in the head, really hard, with the 2 basketballs. I have felt dizzy, and have had many headaches since then. People have been telling me that I have also been slurring my words, and also spacing out, more than usual, and i have also lost my train of thought. Then today I rode the bus home and that was very bumpy, and a person ran into me. Do I have a concussion?

had a big spot on nose, put lemon juice on it to help. started to bleed. turned into a scab. scab fell off.. now i'm left with a pink area where the spot was. will the skin grow back? it's been two weeks now.

Ok, i broke my wrist during rugball. When I went to the

emergency room yesterday, the doc said i may or may not

need surgery due to the fact that the bone broken is near the

growth plate. I'm scared that if I get surgery, i won't wake up.

Anyone know the percentages of this happening? Also, any

good pain medication? I am typing with one hand.

Hello all...I live in Canada, and recently I had some cosmetic surgery. I wanted to have "Spock ears"...ala Mr. Spock and a T'ealk symbol imbedded on my forehead, from the famous TV show "Stargate", but instead my ears came out more rounded at the tip instead of pointed, and the symbol looks weird....What can I do about this disaster???

I sprained my ankle about 10 months ago. At the time it did hurt and I could barely walk on it. However, I wrapped it up and within a day I could easily walk on it. I might not have used ice or elevated it as much as I could have. And recently I noticed that the sprained ankle is a little inflamed even now. It never hurts and I exercise and walk on it, etc. However, since I noticed this I am going to treat it like an initial sprain, ice, elevation, etc. Is this what I should be doing? Does anyone have any experience or advice? Thanks :)

my brother hit me in the face on my nose
