I am having the EMG test for carpal tunnel in one hand and wrist. Does this hurt? I am fine with needles but the electrical shocks do not sould too spiffy. Has anyone had this done in their hand? On a scale of 1-10 (7 being a bee sting) how bad does this test hurt? I thought it was a Nerve conduction test but they said EMG. A friend of mine said it was a ----. I want more examples.

These shocks cause a quick, mild tingling feeling. if he uses needles, it's very mild. everyone has a different threshold for pain. it's a matter of perspective, ie... some people think getting a "B" in school is horrible. others think it's great. the procedure isn't bad, i had it done and it didn't bother me. best wishes.
