I don't have health insurance, so I have to be very careful about going to the doctor. I (thought I) sprained my wrist in a twisting maneuver in aikido class and so I wore a brace for a couple of weeks, did the icing/heating thing, and stopped using it. I'm tentatively going back to aikido class and trying to regain my strength and flexibility with that wrist. However, it's fine until someone in class turns it too fast and then it's sore again. It's been almost two months since the injury, and I am starting to wonder if I broke a bone somewhere. It only hurts in class though.Should I go and get x-rays, or simply stay out of aikido for a while?

I have been getting Physical Therapy for a torn rotator cuff, and recently they have been putting a transdermal patch of cortisone on me. The second I received I broke out ina rash and wash extremely itchy after I removed the patch. I just took the third one off, and I have been sneezing. A quick shower releived the itchys. I have been told that a shot will help tremendously, I am jus worried I may get sneezy all the time. Has anyone ever had this before?
I need advice on what to expect, and what are the dangers.

I stubbed my big toe yesterday, and the nail is like a flap. I flushed it out real well for 10 minutes while i waited for the bleeding to stop. then I fit the nail over the bed like before, cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, put a bunch of antibiotic ointment on it and bandaged it. Do i need to carefully remove the nail that was like a flap? Do I just keep adding the ointment to the nail and its surroundings and keep it covered until the new nail grows back? what do I do and for how long? Any ideas?
I really dont want to have to go to a Dr. unless I really have to, So any help would b great. Thanks.

My foot has been huring for a couple of weeks now. I had a doctor's appointment for something else and decided to bring it up. She xrayed it and both she and the PA think it's a stress fracture, though they were sending it off to a radiologist to read it (although, I've heard it's hard to detect a stress fracture from an xray so... who knows what's going on?). I have to wait until Monday to know anything for sure and get set up with an orthopedic doctor and get a boot and such, though, which is a problem because I work in retail and have no choice but to be on my feet for prolonged periods of time. Is there anything I can buy in terms of an ACE bandage or some sort of brace to wear for the weekend?

Have you ever fainted, and if so, what was the cause & where were you? Yesterday in church my friend fainted and then I almost fainted. I was gagging and sweating and everything got blurry.

I have tons of relatives, I mean TONS. And me being on crutches (I'm having ankle surgery) and having all those people there,at Thanksgiving, I think It's going to be very rough.

Also when I go back to school, I'm afraid I'm going to get murdered inbetween classes. Kids are going to be staring at me like I've got oranges growing out my nose, they're going to be trying to trip me, and how do I carry my bookbag, and my lunchtray, ect?

I'm thankful It's not a major operation, but the aftermath will be rough, any advice, or tips you can share with me?

When I wear it, my back doesnt hurt and back is straight. Then when I take it off to go to sleep in the morning it hurts. My question is do you think i should wear it straight for lets say a week???? Maybe its like a broken arm that needs to be in a cast. All I know is when this thing is on it feels good and nothing hurts and it helps my back stay straight too:)

I was playing basketball and my ankle rolled and I heard a pop. I did the RICE program and it did help. The swelling seems to be more so after I have been on my feet at work or after I wake in the morning and get going for the day. The brusing is only left on the back of my leg between my ankle and calf muscle. I can walk almost like normal and I can rotate my foot with no/little pain and move it up and down, side to side.

I think an injury can make you think its age related like when I was 24 and had a thing going on with a nerve in my hip, but now I'm really noticing a general lazyness which is good because I've always been hyper to much and a definate decline in sex drive but then is it mental because its there as strong as ever when arroused. I removed my cast a week ago from a broken wrist and my wrist still hurts whenever i bend it to the maximum. But the pain is not in the bone, it feels like its in the ligaments, is this normal? and is there any way i can speed up the healing process?

Okay. A few months ago, I went to the doctor conserning this little bump in my hand. He whacked it with a book (Yes.. really) and said it was only a packed bit of calcium or something, and that that whack on my hand broke it up. But now, it's back. on The palm of my hand, right below my middle finger, it's like it's attached to the bone there. It's the size of a slightly flattened chocolate chip, and it's hard. Any thoughts on what it could be? And should I go back to the doctor?

I broke my toe 2 years ago. I don't feel any pain, and I walk on it fine. But it's still bruised (black and blue). Should I be worried?

My 2 yrs old baby cousin just broke her collar bone, I am so down right now. Is there a strong possibilty for a full recovery or is there a chance of disfigurement. I cannot begin to imagine what she and her mom is going through.

Are there any excersizes to make your wrists bigger? I've been working out for a while now, and my muscles are fairly big, but I can still wrap my fingers around my wrist. My theory was that if I do a lot of forearm excersizes, it might extend to my wrist, but its only gotten bigger, not longer. Any advice?

let me start by saying, I am playing the violin in 6 different groups as of now and working at a doctors office full time, so this may be stress or violin related pain.

A few days ago I started getting this shoulder pain in my right shoulder, I passed it off as tendonitis from violin playing, today it has started hurting all over my shoulder, mainly in the front and back near the top (this is all near the joint). also, when I take a deep breath, I get this pain a few inches below my arm-pit on my side, over (or under?) my richs, this is also on my right side. When taking deep breaths it also hurts my shoulder more and a little spot on the lower, back/right side of my neck.
What could this possibly be? it hurts like HECK!
serious answers only please.
thank you
