let me start by saying, I am playing the violin in 6 different groups as of now and working at a doctors office full time, so this may be stress or violin related pain.

A few days ago I started getting this shoulder pain in my right shoulder, I passed it off as tendonitis from violin playing, today it has started hurting all over my shoulder, mainly in the front and back near the top (this is all near the joint). also, when I take a deep breath, I get this pain a few inches below my arm-pit on my side, over (or under?) my richs, this is also on my right side. When taking deep breaths it also hurts my shoulder more and a little spot on the lower, back/right side of my neck.
What could this possibly be? it hurts like HECK!
serious answers only please.
thank you

If you're playing violin in 6 different groups, you ought to be getting massage therapy on a regular basis! You can't work one side of the body without working the other, so you've put your muscles in an awful state. A massage a week until you're feeling better should do the trick. You'll pay anywhere from $20 to $75 per hour. See if there are any massage therapy schools close by as they would be the least expensive. They usually have the nearly graduated doing the massage and they're pretty good. Also, go to http://www.migunworld.com/ and see if there's one near you. You can go there and get free (clothes on) massage on these wonderful heated massage beds for an unlimited time. Hope you feel better soon!

a heart problem is a possibility, but also, this sounds an awful lot like a gallbladder attack. typically people feel the pain from gallbladder in the right shoulder or chest, even though the gallbladder is in the abdomen. other symptoms could include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever or pale stools. also, the pain will commonly worsen after you eat a meal with a lot of fat in it. gallbladder problems can be serious, so you should see a doctor if the pain persists.

You could be stressing your nerves in your shoulders, neck, and back. I would suggest heat 30 minutes cold 30 mins, I have a sciatica nerve problem and I take Kava Kava it is a herbal pain/muscle relaxer, it helps me and maybe you need to rest in between playing.

Back, shoulder pain can be a sign of heart trouble. Get this checked out Don't be alarmed though there could be many specific (joint or strain) or non specific (refered) causes. This could be from bursitis, arthritis, sinusitis, refered dental pain etc. Just get it checked out.
