Are you glad you did it? What was the recovery like? How long to you really noticed feeling better?

(I had the operation on Monday, Feb. 16th. I realize it's only been about 4 days, but I still hurt like crazy, especially when I swollow ANYTHING.)

Does anyone have any experience with this? My mom has it and she thinks I am starting to get it but I think I would rather explain my symptoms to someone else and see what they think?
I am in my early 30s
Everyday my body starts to ache badly enough that I can hardly walk upright. Mostly the pain seems to be in my joints...my hands, knees, ankles and my back. Its kind of like how you feel when you have the flu. Completely achy. While I don't always wake up feeling this way....it does seem to occur on almost a daily basis. I do get some relief from taking a pain releiver (although am not comfortable taking pain releivers every day) but its enough relief to be able to go on with my day.
I guess I want to know if anyone else experiences this...has been diagnosed with anything...

I have been taking 40 lortabs a day, I need help getting off of these things before it ends up killing me. This has been going on for a year and a half now and im to the point that i want and am willing to accept help. I have told my parents,my husband and my doctor,they are all doing there best to help with my situation, but it is the hardest thing i have ever had to do. The withdrawals are unreal. I am attending narcotics anonymous meetings as of this week, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, especially on how to deal with the aches,pains, leg cramps, racing heartrate,just totally feeling like you cant go on. Please help if you can identify with me in any way.

I know someone who is addicted to vicodin, and needs help! He was first prescribed vicodin about a year ago for some joint problems. Well, he was on it for so long that he is now addicted. He is no longer prescribed vicodin, so he has to find them in other places. It is taking up all his money, and causing a lot of GI upset. He has tried to quit cold turkey, and even by weaning down, but his body can't handle it. He gets cold sweats, aches all over, and doesn't have the energy to get up and do anything, so he ends up giving in, because vicodin is so easy to find around here. Does anyone else have some advice for what he can do to quit? Or how I can help him? I've told him he should just go to rehab, or tell the hospital about his addiction, but he won't. PLEASE HELP!!!

4 Days ago I Lifted some weights, and everything was alright till the next day I woke up with soreness on both arms. Its been 4 days and the pain hasn't subsided and in fact its gone worst.Help

since christmas i have been having back problems. about every other week i have been going to the chiropractror. for the last month my back pain has become more serious. i get in so much pain that i dont want to move or wake up in the mornings or anything. and it makes me cry sometimes. two weeks ago (or three... i cant remember exactly) it got so bad that i couldnt walk. so my mom took me to an emergency clinic (Solantic) and they told me that i was having bad back spasms. (what causes them any way? and what are they exactly?) anyway. they put me on muscle relaxers for a week (3 a day for 10 days... but i didnt take 3 a day b/c they make me tired and i didnt want to fall asleep at school) and my back got better when i took them so when they were done i was fine for a few days but now the pain is back and i dont know what to do. i put heat and ice on it. i try to rest it a lot and take advil. and we own a massager so we use that on my back too. but it doesnt really help. what to do pls

I dislocated my should 2/15 and have been going to phy. therapy but theres been no improvement.Now my doc says I also have frozen shoulder.so he has me set up for surgery in 2 wks and says he has to go in and clean it up and perhaps He might have to do it again in the future.Am I going to get any good improvements after such surgery,some people have said they doubt it.Also I pay for my own insurance and it seems that its a fight all the time,but do insurances have limited trips for therapy?I have tto start all over again after the surgery.I guess i'm looking for some uplifting news.Thanks.

I've been getting these weird pain behind my knee. It's not too painful, but it's painful enough to slow me down when i'm running. It hurts especially when running and going up the stairs. I figured it would go away by itself sooner or later, but it didn't... it's been about 2 weeks now. It feels like something's poking me in the bone when i'm walking. It may be a bone pain, but who knows what it'll be.

Well I don't think I have a COLD. I think I have a virus or something because my mucous is green/yellow ish. (sorry to be gross). Actually, I KNOW viruses go away on there own(i've taken biology) but i was wondering wheter I'm supposed to go to the doctor. I feel like I'm getting a little better, though my nostrils are chapped and i think I've blown my brains out my nose(my right nostril feels so empty it's strange). I've had this cold for about a week now.

my little brother (3) was just riding on this little scotter thing that you sit on well i was watching him and he just crashed on the side of the side walk were bushes are and tumbled on the side walk.I just brought him in side he got a bloody nose and skrached his lip and face (his face is not a bad scrash) i sat him down on the couch and let him wach tv well i cleaned and bandeged his scrap and iced his lip .He is better but his lip is swolen up is this ok and will it go away soon?Is there anyway to help ???????(sorry bot the spelln in a rush!!!)

Hi. I am 25 years old and for the past 2 or 3 years my left hip has been going out of place. It goes out and then goes back by itself within a few minutes usually when I get up off the floor after sitting. It is very annoying and painful. What is causing this and is there anything I can do to fix it? I have been to the chiropractor and he didn't really say much about it. Also, I am a runner. I have 2 children ages 4 and 2.

Well i know my pro. is wrong but i am 14 and well i was at school and i hit someones knee cap REALLY hard on my wrist bone well it was red but it didnt hurt REALLY bad but then i was talkin and i hit my wrist in the same place on a wall HARD and then it hurt realllllllly bad but right now it has a huge bump and i feel like a diff bone that wasnt there but it hurts when i touch it and its like purple and brown...did i break it?

Lately this week i've been getting this stabbing pain toward my ribs, and it goes up to my chest. It doesn't last very long but it is pretty painful. I told my mom about it, and she said if the pain gets worse, to get her right away and we'd go to the hospital, she also said it may be something like "Pleurisy" if thats it? It's really starting to freak me out, but I can't stand doctors. And i nearly pass out at sight of a needle.
Any ideas what it might be?

If I'm just going in for a more in depth checkup that involves having my blood tested for diabetes and my cholesterol, what things would be itemized in my bill?
