Well I don't think I have a COLD. I think I have a virus or something because my mucous is green/yellow ish. (sorry to be gross). Actually, I KNOW viruses go away on there own(i've taken biology) but i was wondering wheter I'm supposed to go to the doctor. I feel like I'm getting a little better, though my nostrils are chapped and i think I've blown my brains out my nose(my right nostril feels so empty it's strange). I've had this cold for about a week now.

Yes if you are not too sick it is actually best to let your body heal it self naturally. Your immune system will rise and it will be tougher the next time you get sick which in return helps you fight off illness faster. There are alot of people who over medicate themselves withover the counter meds instead of just riding it out with natural and healthy foods.

It always does. There is no cure for a cold. The best you can do is take medication to minimize the symptoms. And, a cold IS caused by a virus. It's caused by any one of a number of rhinoviruses.

The common cold runs about a two-week course. If it isn't gone by three weeks, then go to the doctor.
