Elevate your hand above your head so any swelling will go down. It helps to put on a rubber glove so you will "sweat" out the swelling. Keep it cold, gloved, and elevated for a good 15 min at least. Then try a little vaseline.
If that doesnt' work, take some thread and wrap it around your finger tightly to make the finger smaller, then pull it over the thread. Don't leave a tight thread on too long or you wil cut off the blood flow (10 min max)
As a last resort go have the ER or the jeweler cut it off. (the ring, not the finger, LOL)
Good luck

You might try sticking your hand in ice water for 20 minutes and see if the finger the ring is on will shrink some... I know in cold weather I have less problems with my rings being too tight.
If that doesn't work go to the jeweler and have them cut it off. They they can repair it and make it the correct size for you.

you could try puttin all the crap on it that has been suggested. if keeping the ring in shape isn't important or you are willing, you could get it cut off. then repaired if desired. you could also do the 'ole fashion twist and pull!!!

When all else has failed, go to your local fire department. Thats probably where a jeweler will send you anyways. Either way, they do it the same way the ER will, but with no bill.
