I smooshed my thumb in a car door and it gushed blood from a big gash for the rest of the day. Two days later, it still hurts to move, bend it, etc.

She's had shingles on her back which is why we think it has become sensitive to the pads for the TENS machine. She's in agony with back pain at the moment, is there anything anyone can suggest so that she can continue using the TENS machine? It was the only thing that helped her back pain before she started coming out in a rash with it. Thank you

I sleep on my side with my hands under my head. I wake up several times at night and my hand will be asleep, very numb! I have always slept on my side and I dont remember having this problem in the past . I know its not uncommon for your hand to go to sleep but... this much? every night, 3-4 times every night? I dont have a problem during the day just occasonally if I set on my foot.

it would be below the knee. As it turns out , the Dr. insisted on giving me one at mid thigh level. Is this typical? He also said that I probably won't be bearing weight for 6 weeks.

If someone was jumping on the trampoline and we where all landing on our butts. My twin brother landed on his back and his wrist was out. When i landed on my butt i landed on his wrist. We are 16 if that makes a difference. On a scale from 1-10 what is the likely hood that landing on a wrist would break. 1 being not likely and 10 absolutely likely.

I take a multivitamin that says it provides me with 100% of my daily iron. But I'm still anemic. The iron pills say they provide you with 200% of your required daily iron. Is that too much if I take the multivitamin AND iron pills or is there such a thing as too much iron?

My right tendon on my forearm on the outside is painful, and I think it's from using the mouse. I switched to my left hand for the mouse but my right forearm is not healing and it's been about a month now. What can I do about the arm, and what should I do about the mouse (higher, lower, angled?).

I have went to drs since I was young and have had glasses twice. It has never improved. So I don't wear glasses. I have a hard time passing my drivers eye exam and glasses do not help my bad eye.
I can not see any better than what I did before. Even when I am at the eye dr and they try to prescribe eyeglasses for me,(better or worse) i can not tell any difference.

Is there any hope for me to see out of my bad eye? It seems as if it is getting worse and I don't know what to do. I am 26 years old and dont want to lose my license or my eye sight!

Any help?

Please could you tell me what you think it might be. I was at the doctors today and tey gave me antibiotics for it saying it could be an infection but to come back immediately if it didn't work. This afternoon it's still sore but also in places it's gone numb. Any ideas. The pain is around the occipital area just to the right of my spine on my scull.

Okay - serious answers only please. Okay I fell off a horse pretty hard last week. My low back hurt right away on impact. I went to the ER and nothing was broken - but ever since that day, and starting that day I have been making #2, BM's (whatever you want to call it) much more often and they are super soft, almost like I am sick. This is strange to me because I had the complete opposite issue before I fell...my mom says I just 'shook' my system up -- but I was just wondering what others thought....I mean i am not going like 10 times a day - it is still normal but just so different that before. I think the first day what i fell i went like 4-5 times - but now it is like 2-3 times a day - i don't know....Do any of you know what could have happened medically??

Thank you for serious answers only.....

For the past 4-5 months, I have had loose bowels almost every day. It seems the only time I do not is on the weekends. I started a new job about 5 months ago, and I work at 8:30 in the mornings now, whereas I used to work nights. I have come to the conclusion that their may be a strong connection between my loose bowel problem and the days I have to get up early. Does not getting enough sleep cause this? Most of the days it happens, It happens more than once a day, and usually before I have eaten anything.

Any ideas about the cause and should I be concerned?

No negative comments please!

A little over two weeks ago I pulled my calf muscle in my left leg and I was limping for about a week and a half. On friday I went bowling with some friends and my right knee started to hurt. At first I thought it was just the strain of my right leg having to do all the walking for the last week but then my left knee started to hurt too. I don't ahve time to see a doctor until Saturday night. Could this be related to my pulled muscle or is it something different. I'm 21 years old and very atheletic.

I'm sixteen years old and when I was sleeping last night and I went to roll over and I got a really sharp pain in my back/side area...Then when I went to sit up, I got another one in my stomach. It hurt really bad and I wasn't sure what to do, so I just went to sleep. Probably not the smartest thing to do but I was really tired.
I was just wondering if anybody could help me with what it could be, and if it's serious or not.

Yesterday I was playing basketball, and my friend accidentally elbowed me in the chest. As soon as that happened my chest started hurting and it hurt a little bit when I breathed, and it hurt terribly when I shot the basketball. Later I started feeling pain on the back area directly behind my chest. Right now my chest still hurts a little bit but hurts a lot when I sneeze. Does anybody know whats wrong or if its serious? Could anything be broken?

My 11 year old daughter suffers from painful menstrual cramps. This is the second time she has had to come home from school because of them. The doctor said that heavy menstruation is normal in younger girls, especially when they are in their first year. However, ibuprofen did not work last time, so I gave her two low dose aspirin. It helped with her cramping immediately.

I know Reye's Syndrome is a real danger to children, but how often does aspirin need to be administered before this occurs? I couldn't find any answers on the Internet - it just says children and aspirin don't mix.

I hate to see my child in pain, and I have tried everything else, from heating pads to teas, hydration, hot showers, ibuprofen and acetimetaphine.
