Bfore it fell off, did your toenail turn dark & yelloowish? If so you have a fungus infection, and if not treated your nail will grow out quite ugly. It's too late to worry about whether you will grow one out, you could, but they will grow slower because of the infected skin area.
Why are you hiding it from your mom, instead of having it cured and taken care of? maybe it's not a priority to you, so there's your answer.

It will take about 6 months to a year for the nail to completely grow back.
Don't sweat it. Just make sure you don't re-injure that same toe. It won't look very attractive but it won't be like that forever.

It will take a long time to grow out. It must grow from the nail bed(toward the skin part of your toe)
there is no embarassment in it. and people probably won't even notice. I mean who ever looks at your toes

Toenails grow very slowly. You can take a nutritional supplement called Silica which might help speed the growth, also gelatin (Jello) but it will still take time. Try applying nail polish to all your toe nails and also apply it to the tip of the toe without the nail. Maybe she won't notice. Good luck.

You'll be able to hit that party. When the nail falls off the skin underneath is super sensitive, but the pain will go away. cover it for a few weeks to protect it and the sensitivity will go down. as you get closer to the party, uncover it. you may not have the nail back by then, but you'll be able to swim and such.

your toenail will naturallu grow back, i at one time jammed my nail into the ground on accident, and yes, i mean into my toe as well, the nail fell off, and then slowly began to grow back, sorry i cant help with time factors, but the nail will heal, and grow, it may be lumpy, and uneve, but after that, mine was completely perfect!

It will grow back on its own
I know you want to hide it from you mom but you really need to have it checked out. You do not want to loose your toe due to infection
