I was playing softball (why isnt it spelled soffball??) but anyways, I slid into second and felt a pop in my leg/ankle and extreme pain. I got an X-ray and they said "Oh it's not broken just sprainged" I'm willing to believe that, but it doesn't feel like a spraing. I can stand on it, and touch it, but its swollen and blue. it hurts when I twist it a certain way and if I fall (duh). So any feedback?

I just had a nap after my dinner, I've woken up now, but I feel strange and can't even spell my words without double checking them. Should I go back to sleep or does someone have a miracle cure that can wake up my brain?

My husband presented a couple of weeks ago with moderate back pain. It went away on its own. This past weekend brought us to the ER with severe back pain that he rated at 8/10, he's passed kidney stones before, so the score is not to be sneazed at. They gave him panadole, biprufen and morphine, the pain stopped. After what was presumed a negative blood in urine test and a couple of hours they sent him home.

My question is as he's had kidney stones before (11years ago) and his probability of having kidney stones again is very high, should this diagnosis have been dismissed? Does it warant further investigation (I.e. ultrasound and/or CT scan).? I would think so, but perhaps I'm being over critical. I'm not happy they are leaving it. Isn't it important to know there is something there even if it's not travelling at the moment. My thinking is if there is stones, and they turn out to be too big to pass, they should be blasted! Why put him through unnecessary pain if it can be avoided?

I was cleaning my ears out Sat. morning and when I finished I could barely hear. I was using a Q-TIP which my mom told told me I should never do. It has been this way since Sat. and is really starting to aggrevate me. What could be the problem? It has done this before but it got better within a day. It is also giving me a slight headache.

My dad has suffered with the above every day for 7 months now. He thinks its a torn ligament but I'm not sure. He had Trigenimnal Neuralgia for years when I was growing up could this be as a result, even though its 10 years since his last attack? I have read and heard about Neuropathic pain could it be this? How does he go about curing this?

I have hypoglocemia and have a really bad sugar drop two or three times a week, depending on how stressed I am. People around me that have diabetes are always saying to me "at least you are not diabetic". Well, I have never had diabetes and I DO have respect for those that do. What they do not understand is that having hypoglocemia is NO picnic. Mine gets so bad sometimes its all I can do to find my glucose without thinking I am getting ready to drop into a coma any second. It also gives me no warning most of the time. And by the time I DO get my levels back up it has wore me out as bad as if I had ran a marathon. I get really emotional afterward, ie..crying and irritated. I pretty much have a glucose monitor within reach 24/7. Anyway, what my question is, Does anyone else have this problem? I hate feeling so helpless.

I have had nothing but trouble with my health for a long time. I am taking antidepressants for what the doctor says is fibromyalgia and blood tests show At some point I have had mono. For a while I took steroids, but quit using it because I didnt feel it was helping me. I am so weak and tired all the time. I have headaches and body aches constantly. Its hard to work 40 hours a week when I could sleep all day. The doctor keeps sending me on my way to deal with my problems. I really need help.

I was working a race this weekend and was stung by a bee. Since I don't smoke, I was asking a few people who do for a cigarette. Only myself and another person had heard about this. There were maybe 20-30 people. I was curious to see if anyone else had heard of doing this?

The pain I am having is below bad ear, left side, into jaw, face and neck. 3 years now. I've shown swelling to doctors at VA, no real response, they think I am just a drug seeking patient. But the odor is bad, along with drainage. (they can't say I'm faking that) It took 2 years to convience them I was having headaches, I was accused of faking to get drugs, then they found tumor, told I could become paralized any moment. Still in files that I am drug seeking, have written many letters to get changed, to no avail. But that's the VA, if you need pain med, your just faking to get drugs. Everyone is treated that way. When they are proved wrong, won't admit mistake, won't prescribe badly needed drugs. So many of us Vets suffer, because DEA with no degree in Med or Pharm, tell doctors what thay can prescribe. We can get shot, but we can't get med for pain.

This makes no sense to me at all. "Believe me", or "I believe you" makes sense, but "Believe you me?" What the F??? I know it says to believe the person whe said it, but why not just say "believe me"???

And what is the plural form of "believe you me"? Is it "believe they us"???

For those of you who use this term, please expain to me why you have to add the "you" in there. Or maybe you just say it without thinking about it or even though you know it makes no sense whatsoever.

I think whoever invented this phrase was dropped on his or her head as a baby and was speaking incoherently after that, lol.
