I was playing softball (why isnt it spelled soffball??) but anyways, I slid into second and felt a pop in my leg/ankle and extreme pain. I got an X-ray and they said "Oh it's not broken just sprainged" I'm willing to believe that, but it doesn't feel like a spraing. I can stand on it, and touch it, but its swollen and blue. it hurts when I twist it a certain way and if I fall (duh). So any feedback?

You have multiple ligaments and tendons surrounding your ankle. If you rip and/or tear any of them you may indeed feel a "pop" and when one of them goes it will of course put more strain and Resistance on the others which may cause more damage and prolong your healing process. I have gone through what you seem to have experienced, I'm not a doctor (just a Paramedic), but keeping your weight off of it as much as you can to allow healing is probably your only option. Wish I could offer some great healing remedy, but time is what it will take to heal.

a grade IV sprain can be more painful than a fracture. I have a friend that had both, and the sprain almost made him pass out with pain. It's not unusual to not be able to walk on an acute sprain. R=rest
I=ice (20 minutes on every 2-4 hrs0
C=compression (ace wrap)
E=Elevation (above your heart for 3 days)
You can always have it re-xrayed in a couple of days. Sometimes a follow up xray will find a fracture when the first one doesn't. If it doesn't start feeling better in 3 days, I'd defienetly get it rechecked, by a sports medicine doc would be great, or orthopedist.

usually if you break something and there is no extreme pain it usually occurs when the break occured or shortly there after. If it has been some time and if it was broken you would know. Also if there is no pain during any physical activities but once it is over its most likely a stress fracture. But if you got an x ray then the doctors are probably right unless they over looked it.If it bothers you that much go to another doctor to get a second opinion

Yes you can, but you can also have a sprain that hurts TREMENDOUSLY. I sprained my knee when hit by a car my senior year of high school, couldn't walk on it for a week! You may have also pulled tendons or ligaments. I would follow up with a regular doctor tomorrow once the swelling has gone down some, and I'm SURE it's swollen. Til then, just stay off of it and rest it!
And it's spelled "soft"ball because it's soft as compared to the harder BASEball. LOL

Well its not spelled soffball because you pronounce it SOFT ball. And yes you can have a broken bone and not be in severe pain. I broke my wrist once snowboarding, and it was swollen and blue just like you say and it was a hair line fracture. If you have doubts then you should get a second opinion from a different doctor.

you could visit the female rfile and that they might do it, im unsure if its painful or no longer yet you could a minimum of ask and get extra information on it. or do exactly it your self lube up and masturbate, you could administration the p.c.. and each thing. yet i might relatively sugest talking with a rfile...its atypical in the previous each and every thing yet its no longer undesirable and you will tell her each and every thing and she or he might supply you alot of robust advise.

breaks usually dont hurt as much as sprains there are none pain receptors in bone. Xray is all the proof you need
