This may not be what you want to hear, but, seriously?? You need antibiotics. A bacterial ear infection will not go away on it's own. If you've already tried the over-the-counter stuff (that is, the medication available at the drugstore) and it isn't working, you definitely need to see a doc. Especially given the pain you describe. Sounds horrible!!
Infections are not to be messed with. I had cut near my eye a couple years ago. It got infected but I let it go for longer than I should and ended up in the ER with IV's. I stayed there for a week. The infection was in such close proximity with my brain, I was told that if I had waited even one more day it would have spread to my brain and killed me. Now, isn't the ear close to the brain?? Please find a way to see a doc before you develop more serious probs.
Can you borrow the mola?? Can you go to a Free Clinic?? Can you put it on a credit card and make payments?? Can ya pawn something?? Can you brainstorm with someone regarding ways you can get some mola for a doc??

Go to a Health Food store and pick up some ear candles. You'll need some help, especially if you've never used them before. Ear Candles are hollow tubes of linen that are tapered at the end and are coated with beeswax. You'll need a paper plate and a glass of water nearby. Cut a hole in the center of the plate, stick the candle through the hole. it should be a snug fit. place the tapered end in your ear, and lite the top of the candle, The plate acts like a visual barrier, and protects you. The flame draws built up ear wax in the ear canal. You should hear some pops and cracks. When the candle burns down 3/4 of the way dip it in water to extinguish the flame. Afterwards you should follow up with sweet oil, or Murine ear drops. Peroxide also works. 3-4 drops should do it, twice a day. It's interesting to cut open the remaining part of the candle to see how much ear wax was expelled. I have health insurance but would rather try to solve a problem like this naturally instead of going to the ER. If you feel you must see a DR see if there are any Urgent care clinics in your area. It's usually cheaper, and the wait isn't as long.

ear infections need to be seen by a doctor. Sorry.
You wont need to visit a hospital- just a local health clinic would be fine.
The reason you need to see a doctor is ear infection do not go away on their own. they only get worse. I know this because I get them a few times a year.
You need an antibiotic to get the infection gone.
To see a doctor at a clinic in Florida is $145 but everything seems to be expensive here. And then antibiotics are cheaper if you get the liquid instead of pill form.
I know it's expensive but you need to get it checked out while it's still not in the worst condition. The longer you let it go, the more medicine you'll need and the more money it'll cost.

Hannah,
You really need to see a doctor. Head to a local ER
tell them you have no insurance and they can at least give you a bill to pay! Most of all medicine for your infection!
In the mean time people gave you some good advice.
I'd warm some peroxide and settle some in your infected ear.
Steam the bathroom and sit in the shower - sudafed makes some "pucks" that make it easier to breathe. They melt in the shower and open up your nose to breathe better.
Sudafed, and motrin - but you need an antibiotic -
Feel better.

you should go to a doctor and get antibiotics.
ear infections can get natsy real quick and the worse they get the harder they are to fix.
antibiotics are the only thing that can kill the infection for you. if you cannot find a free clinic in your area, you can work out payment plans with hopsitals, but your cheaper bet is just to make an office appt. with a local doc so you're just paying for their time, not a crazy hospital bill.
A doctor's appointment should run you $80-150 for the visit. Or maybe cheaper depending on where you live.
if you let it get worse by not treating it, you could end up forced to go to the hospital and end up paying way more than this.

You have to go to a doctor. If it is a serious infection that is causing you pain, You might need more than a pain medication. You can put a warm compresses over the ear to try to loosen up the ear wax and help the infection drain.
I hope you feel better.

You need decongestant pills. The ones that work best, now need to be signed for at the pharmacy (but do not require a prescription).
Actually, you need penicillin (or some other antibiotic), as you probably have a bad infection, which could lead to a rupture of the eardrum if not cared for.
If you have a fever, too, just go to the emergency room--they can not turn anyone away, regardless of ability to pay. They will send bills--but you can either apply for medicaid (which the hospital can do for you), or you can make payment arrangements with the hospital. Hey, it beats loss of hearing.

Dear friend, first, it is indeed very risky to take "home remedies" for such a case as ear infection, so, be very careful. I know of something that might help: Use just a drop of olive oil, heat it on a spoon (not too much or you´ll burn yourself) and gently drop it in your ear (while hot). As another kind of medicine, that kind you buy at the drugstore, you might wanna try "otosynalar" (I do not know if the name is the same on other parts of the world, but browse the web for it and discover it´s composition, in a way that you could find the same on your local drugstore.) this one is particularly useful.
Regards, Gabriel.

Actually, you must go to some kind of health care provider. Try to find one that is income based.. You may have to pay $5 or $10 as a copay but you'll see a dr. The reason why is because ear infections, like any infection, can become serious, septic, and need immediate iv antibiotics. If your legs or other parts of your body begin to ache like a flu or cold, then you really need to get help, that means it is in your blood and spreading like wildfire. Please see someone!

Two things:
For immediate pain relief, Take a towel and put over the ear and a hair dryer and blow at ear. The towel will keep it from blowing directly in your ear and getting too hot. The warmth will ease the pain.
Then take hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball and lay down. Squeeze the peroxide into your ear and sit until it stops popping. Sit up (with a tissue under your ear) and repeat again in a few hours as needed.
