General Health Care - February 2007

The injury occured from weight lifting. I think i lifted to much, to many times. And the pain is only there after i lift things. How can i heal this so i wont have a sharp pain when i lift things in my wrist? Also would food with lots of protein help?

In 2002 my husband died in 2004 I found it necessary to quit my job to care for my daughter. Since then I have not been able to find health care insurance for my daughter and myself. The lack of healthcare is causing her health to deteriorate. It has caused me to rent my house out in order to pay mortgage then the renters didn't pay so now its being autioned off and in foreclosure. As far as I know I have tried everything.

My husband has what we think is TMJ. He has horrific pain off and on, mostly at night, loud popping when he eats, ect. His PCP didn't want to even talk about TMJ but gave him some none narcotic pain meds for his headaches. We have an appointment with a dentist but it seems no one wants to have anything to do with this problem. That is, except for Myofacial Pain Specialist that cost a couple of thousand dollars that we don't have in our back pocket. The dentist said he can look at him and maybe make a brace for him but said it won't get better for months.

Any comments/advise?

Does nayone have any good remedies for this pain problem? I have had this problem for over a mont hnow and nothing seems to work. I have tried anit-inflammatories, ice, and other doctors advice but nothing is helping. I have even bought some expensive shoes and good inserts due to me standing for 9 hrs a day on my feet but nothing seems to be helping.

My 42 yr old husband has had shoulder blade pain for 2 days now and it is radiating to his front chest and he has trouble lifting his arm up and complains of having pain in his chest when he breathes deep. He is not sick in any way no cough, fever or anything of the sort. We have used pain relieving rub, heating pad and that stuff of home remedies and it isn't helping. Is this something to be concerned about and looked at?

Oatmeal is used to stop itching with psorasis, posion ivy and the like, but i wonder, with its absorbant properties, malibility, and the fact that it will harden over time would make it good for covering wounds to stop the bleeding. Am i wrong?

Almost a week or more, I have a sharp pain on my left side of my neck from under left ear down to my neck and also it raidiates to my center chest. sometimes both sides of my neck shoot pain in my neck and goes to my chest. What could this be.

Doctor said I have nerve damage in my foot in ankle. (Tarsal Tunel) He said the best thing to do is to have my foot placed in a fiberglass or plaster cast from my toes to my knee for 8 weeks. I have an appointment next wensday to have it done. I really dont want to be in another cast.

What do you do when you have something in your eye and you cannot find it to get it out? And it has been an hour.

I have put eye drops in. Tried to let it pass on its own. I have tried to cry to let it naturally go. I have even used water to flush it out. But NOTHING is working.

I have a pain in my abdomon that has been there for a month now. They have done 3 liver blood workups on me. 2 CBC's on me, and a ultra sound of that area and they are all great. I feel queeze but I am newly pregnant. I have been having some back muscle pain as well. i read the questions related and they didnt fit my situation...i had an mri done and nothing showed up its really bad especially on the computer or writing or holding a book, my doctor doesnt believe me he thinks i want pain medication, that would be nice but im not interested in long term medication. massage helps but for a limited time. help!

Hello, Does anyone know of a good doctor for Fibromyalgia or pain management in Conroe, Tx? I have had fibromyalgia for 8 years now, and still hurting. My meds give me no relief.The pain doctor I was seeing, until 2 days agao, told me he wanted to decrease my meds.I asked he if he is crazy. You don't decrease meds for fibromyalgia. I know I need stronger meds, but what doctor is able to work with me and listen,I hope someone out there knows whay I am going through.thanks, Barbara Tolbert.
