Is it possible to have swollen glands in the armpit
while I have a serious case of the flu?

It can be caused by several things. Lymph nodes enlarge when they fight infection. If you have the flu, that's likely what's causing it.

Also, if you shave your armpits (I don't know if you are male or female) too close you can cause ingrown hairs and that can cause the nodes to swell.

Don't be too concerned unless it continues for over a week. Longer than that and you should see a doctor.

Yes, those are your lymphnodes that are swollen. That often times happens when you have an infection or fu.
