If this is a chronic problem, and you are already getting enough sleep at night, you might want to ask your doctor about Provigil.

Been there done that work on a computer 8-10 hours a day and it is exhausting. Here's the deal stay away from the coffee, and sugar (ie candy bars, soda) it is only a temporary fix and once you come down from the sugar high you are going to be more tired then before. Get up and walk away from the computer, whether it is outside or not, take a lot of deep breaths while walking re-oxygenate your blood, get the blood pumping. Do this as much as needed. Also you can look up energy pills that will help you all day and not give you a hard come down, I myself use one a day and it helps a lot.

Drink a glass of water. I know it sounds simple but studies show that it is better at helping you stay awake then coffee or soda. With those two you go through a sugar or caffeine crash.

Too much caffeine tends to have a "diminishing returns" point, plus there is the problem of lost focus and bladder/kidney stress. After a couple of cups, the best thing is to take a break every once in awhile and do a little exercise. Jumping rope always worked best for me.

Go outside for a few minutes and take several deep breaths. Inhale through your mouth and exhale through your nose. Do that a few times and that should make you feel refreshed enough to stay awake.

Fresh air, walk, plenty water, bit music, pinch your cheeks, squeeze your nose, wear very tight jeans, too small shoes, sit in lotus position, 20 sit ups, 25 press ups, few squat thrusts, another walk, more fresh air, listen to Nirvana loudly, phone your friends, have a cold shower, another walk, more fresh air, listen to and dance to Bob Marley, eat a banana, eat some cereal, bake a cake, another walk, meditate, bit of chanting, visit an elderly neighbour, bake them a cake, tell yourself some jokes, tickle yourself, have another walk, deep breathing of the fresh air, run a mile, walk the dog, play with the cat and when you have done alL that, WAKEY WAKEY AND GET ON WITH YOUR WORK AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS GET AN EXTENSION !!!!! GOOD LUCK.

Think that your boss may arrive any moment and give you the sack for being asleep on the job.

Drink more strong coffee

Make sure you sleep for minimum of 7 hours within every 24 hours.

Go into the bathroom and put some cold water on your face. Always helps me to revive.
After that, coffee (keep on drinking it or high caffeine pop)
