Actually " Ringworm"is a fungus, not a bacteria,so they would only respond to "anti fungal" medications, like a " athletes foot" creams or spray's.Available at any drug or "superstore",inexpensive, they all work the same, generics are just as effective as the name brand's.You will need to keep your feet clean&dry, follow directions on the package, and always wear shower shoe's in bathrooms in gym's and health clubs etc. Take care. Back when I was a girl the standard treatment was vinegar. Though it works, its not the fastest remedy for a fungus such as this. Lotrimen and Tinactin are probably the most popular treatments. If these don't work within 2 weeks its time to see a doctor because there are other types of ringworm that only respond to prescribed medications. Until a cure is purchased I'd start using the vinegar. The sooner a treatment is started , the better.

Ringworm is a fungal infection. An antibiotic cream will not work, you will need an antifungal cream from the doctor (Tinactin or Lotrimin, for example). Also, if you haven't already been diagnosed by a doctor, go now, because there are other skin infections that can look like ringworm at first. I once had a blood infection (caused by poking my arm with gardening shears) misdiagnosed as ringworm.

My son was a wrestler and got ringworm all the time. I was always running him to the Dr for a prescription for an anti-fungal cream. Then one day I tried over the counter athlete's foot cream (Lotrimin?). I worked just as good as the prescription cream. It's slightly less concentrated so you've just got to apply it 3 times a day instead of 2. Try it. You'll see a huge improvement in a couple of days.

Ringworm is a fungal infection. It takes about a month to get rid of. A prescription topical steriod cream and antifungal cream or spray should do it.

I've lived on a farm and this was always happening to me. Ani-fungal cream is the only way to get rid of this.....It is very cheap and use for a week and it will be gone.....

Ringworm is very difficult to get rid of. You need to get a prescription from the doctor which contains a steroid cream and antibiotic (e.g. betnovate). It should get rid of the infection within 2 weeks.
