My 76 y/o father who is otherwise healthy, exercises, eats well, was just diagnosed with blocked arteries, which they are contributing to the stressful factors in his life. Its easy to say, "let it roll off your back", but how do you actually do that?

Can someone please explain the difference between a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Practical Nurse, and why an LPN is considered a "lower ranking" than an RN? Just wondering, thanks.

It's in my leg. It's not bleeding now, but it hurts. Will it heal around the bullet and leave a little hole? Should I do surgery myself? Damn it hurts.

I live in a dorm room, with 2 other roommates. Since the beginning of last semester, I have had problems with sleeping. They don't seem to be getting extremely worse, bbut everything I try does not seem to make them better. Let me explain the situation in my dorm room. Like I said, 3 people. Very small room. There are 2 lights, one overhead light, and one light over the sick and counter. These lights stay off at night once I go to sleep, but one of my roommates has a flourescent desk lamp that seems to light up the room like it is world war 3. He is also not the quietest roommate in the world. He tends to watch TV, albeit at a low volume, long after I go to bed.I use a face mask which I have purchased at Bed, bath and Beyond, and ear plugs, but they both don't seem to work. Light seeps in through mynose bridge, and the ear plugs only offer some relief. I can't seem to fall asleep. Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything at all? I am running out of ideas, and becoming sleep deprived

I do gymnastics, and I landed wrong when I was tumbling on floor, and I hurt my ankle, when something either snapped or popped. My coach took a look at it and said that if it hurt in the morning I'd need xrays. The next morning it didnt really hurt.... but its 4 days later now, its still kind of swollen, and occasionally something pops in and out. I have a lot of bruises too, and theres two particular ones that stand out because they are literally two staight diagional lines across my ankle... It doesnt really hurt though?? Is it something more than just a sprain??

about two nights ago, i woke up and my arm was just NUMB. i figured i slept on it because it felt like rubber ! (this is just my lower left arm). recently i have had a bit of chest pain on the left, and strain really, which has gotten better. but now i have this. i carry a backpack everyday, and it can get heavy fromt textbooks. right now, its only my left lower arm thats getting numb. and last night it was a trauma to get to sleep because of it. i dont have any severe pain, just the tingling. and anything cold against it feels wet. i don't know if its a pinched nerve, and my mother is hesitant to take me to the hospital, what should i do ?!

THANKS !

Last year i broke my talus bone and three of my metatarsals, apparently it all healed well so why recently does my ankle give way almost causing me to fall over? I 've also got a dull ache most of the time and sometimes a sudden overwhelming pain shoots through my whole foot, its really getting me down.

I didnt consult with the lawyer but i was wondering if anyone knows how much I can ask for settlement. I never been in the car accident before and I dont even drive yet I was just got my permit to learn how to drive before the accident and now probably wont drive for a while as I got really scared.
So i dont know if i even need to go to a lawyer since the other party not even arguing the fault and admit the responsibility.

i would appreciate any feedback.

Thank you,

term, just a medical one. Someone had asked about what could cause an infection of a certain nature. I don't understand unless someone saw it as an vulgar term or simply didn't like it. What is your view point?

the ones you read about "the top pediatric neurosurgeon in the country" and "world reknowned plastic surgeon", the "leading oncologist" etc. We see a lot of doctors, and they are, for the most part, terrific, but what if I want to see the "BEST" one there is?? Where would I go to find that information?

For the last couple of wks, I have been having some problems with my arms & hands....
When I drive, my arms will hurt, my hands will cramp up, & my arms will start to feel heavy...when I am writing, my hand feels like it falls asleep....when I am typing, my arms will hurt...& feel heavy...OMG..dont get me started on showering...but I mean..it REALLY takes its toll....I feel like I have 20 lb bricks on my arms...

My Mom says this might be a circulation problem or an oxygen problem....

I have an appt to see a Dr., but it isnt until Feb. 10th....

Anyone have any ideas what this might be? or suggestions...

Not looking for a diagnoses from anyone, just something I might be able to take to the Dr & suggest him looking for...
