That is the perfect question to ask considering I drank last night and have to go do a drug and alcohol screening in four hours!
The answer to your question is simple. About 97 percent of alcohol is metabolized through the blood. About 1.5 percent is excreted through the urine and the rest evaporates through sweat. So, with that said, most people can metabolize one drink per hour. It takes about 40 minutes to start excreting through the urine but you start metabolizing through the blood right away. To err on the side of caution, you should give youself at least 12 hours of drink free time to fully metabolize and excrete the alcohol.
However, each person is different so no gurantees! I know people who drank like it was 1999 at stopped at 10 pm the night before and passed the screening 12 hours later.
Also, note that you should pee at home when you wake up. your first void of the day is going to be the most concentrated. Drink enough water so that when you go to the screening that you can still pee 40 to 60 ml.

1 (12 oz.) can of beer will stay in your system for an hour. It will take 1 hour exactly for it to be out of your system. Anything over that stays in your system longer. It really depends on what you drink and how much you drink.
My husband drinks beer and he had to have an alcohol test for work. He passed it because I made him wait 1 hour after he drank a beer before I would let him have another one.

I myself am subject to random alcohol testing, and am a whiskey drinker. What I've done in the past is go at least 8 hours, and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER! (Drinking a large glass of water also helps the morning after hang-over...as well as flush the alcohol out of your system. Hope this helps. ( I also do not drive ) and oh yeah, you will have the pee in a cup test, I believe, although they take awhile to get results back. You will need to do the same things I mentioned above ~ if you must do the dreaded breathalyser < ( I hit spell check, and it implied that breathalyser is spelled correctly!) It sure doesn't look correct to me!! Hopefully if you get called in ( is it the Probation Dept?) you will have gone hours "without", and when you get called, just drink your water, and walk in with a smile :-) P.S. The reason I am able to go at least 8 hours is because my random urines happen at work, which is where I go in the mornings. If I'm out drinking the night before, I stop early, go home ~ eat ~ drink a large water before bed ~ wake up in the middle of the night "because I drank too much water before bed", drink another glass of water, and go back to sleep!

It depends on the amount of alcohol you consume and your actual BAL (blood alcohol level).
Your level will decrease on average about 20-25 points per hour.
For example; if your BAL is 100, it will be roughly 4 hours until it is eliminated from your system.
Every person's body and body weight is different so there is no way I could advise you on how much is too much without knowing your actual BAL. And there is no way to know that without drawing blood.
If I were you, I wouldn't drink at all the day of my screening.

One 12 oz beer, one 1 oz shot, or 1 4oz wine takes about 1 hour to go, but the more you drink the longer it takes

That really depends on how much and what you had to drink, akso did you have water in between how many times you have been to the toilet. So you see there is no easy answer to this question.

Alcohol (Beer, Booze, Hooch, Liquor, Wine), 1hour to perhaps 10 or 12 hours (Yes, alcohol IS a drug! Drinking more than "in moderation" can lead to alcohol (drug) abuse...and perhaps alcoholism. During 2002, more than 18,000 people in the U.S. were killed by too-boozed-up DRUNK drivers! DON'T BE ONE OF THEM THIS YEAR!)
