I broke a bone in my large toe and tore the ligaments very badly almost 10 years ago when I was 13. Then in college I refractured the same bone just by walking around in very high heeled shoes.

I have broken bones before but this break is extremely painful--10 times more than any other. I have constant pain and have tried many things like stretches and foot soaks. I figured because this is the only time I have torn ligaments in the area that perhaps that was the issue. The doctors have told me the pain would go away but I am still dealing with it 10 years later.

Has anyone else had a similar injury with ligament tears? What have you done to decrease the pain? Have you had an particular type of surgery that alleviated it?

and the red has turned black? It's been a week since the injury. Should I go back to work tomorrow? Last week I went to work for four days and the foot got worse. Now, since Friday it is looking a lot better. Should I take a chance a try to go to work? My boss will be very upset if I have to loose time from my job which I stay on my feet almost all day.

Can you still get poisoned even if you swallowed just a little of a poisonous substance like dishwashing soap, maybe just a dollop of it? Or is there a certain amount you have to take in for it to really matter?

My mom is 61 and had a light case of the stomach flu 3 weeks ago. She was nauseous for 4 days then felt OK. A week later, she felt nauseous again for a few days then it went away for 4 days. Now it's back. it seems like food relieves her. It occurs usually a few hours after a meal and when she starts getting hungry. She had 2 episodes of reflux ( one 2 months ago) and one very recently. Other then the nausea she feels fine ( no burning, no constipation, no blood in stools, no vomiting, no fatigue). The only thing I can add is that she received her usual hip shots (she suffers from arthritis ) 2 months ago and got very nauseous a few minutes later. The doc told her:" your stomach must be in bad shape". She is going to see a doc. next week. What could cause this? She has been under considerable stress. She also noticed that since she had this stomach flu, her tongue has been less pink .
She tested her stomach by eating spicy and hot and was fine.
Any insight would be appreciated.

under workcover and other nsw Acts, what must be done to gain approval to have drugs and medications included in first aid rooms and first aid kits in the workplace.
e.g. asthma puffers, epi pens.
a risk assessment would have to be carried out, as would consultation with staff, a description of the likely hazards to be found in the workplace - dust - allergens.
what else?
I would be most grateful for your responses

I layed down immediately and couldnt move. My partner assisted me to sit and walk downstairs but it took approx 30 mins to get up and come down. Its very sore and i feel qute stiff. If i try to stand totally straight its very uncomfortable. Has anyone down anything similar or have any suggestions as to what i could have done? Im going to the doctor in the morning. x

I am at work, in a hospital. I watch telemetry, basically watch patient's hearts beat and try to determine if they are having fatal arrhythmias. HOWEVER, I sit in this tiny 4ft x 4ft room to do this, in the dark, with the air vent directly above my head. I am so cold my bones are achy. I have taken blankets from the warmer, jogged in place, drunk coffee... the thermostat can not be changed.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO?

I am not allowed to leave this room. I am to watch these monitors at all times. HELP!

After a month or so he feels this heart ache again but this time it's not for a while but kept hurting him. he went to hospital and told him that he strained a muscle from his lung. is this possible? or is he lying to me? please help me, i'm afraid he is hiding something from me since he is all the time answering me "i dont know" regarding his health issues. thanks

A few hours ago I took a nasty spill down some stairs. I was wearing socks and my stairs are carpeted. The corner of one stair hit me directly in my middle back and the corner of the other stair directly on the back of my neck. My head whipped back and hit the top of the stair pretty hard. Shortly after (winthin 5 minutes) I began to get a headache behind my eyes and nose...not so severe but uncomfortable. My headache has not gone away nd I have been getting slight throbbing behind my nose. Other than that I feel Ok. there is a slight difference in size in my pupils. I called a friend who said take 2 Aspirin every 4 hours but then I read about how you shouldnt sleep after maybe having a concussion because the head injury may be worse than one thinks. I have no health insurance at the moment so I would like to know what others would do or to hear about any information that anyone has on unequal pupils and what that means...

My cousin and I bought some pot from a known friend, and when we smoked it with a different friend, that friend told us it was soooo loced with coke. He said he does coke often, so he knew.
The onky thing I do is smoke pot occasionaly, but I would NEVER know what doing coke would be like. I want to make sure I am right or wrong, because I won't buy anymore from him if it is laced.

My skin wont stop coming off when I wash. When I dry off it starts coming off like a snow storm. This is my whole body.
This is not something that can be helped with lotion. I have other health problems related to kidneys, full body bone pain, muscle pain, spasms and twitching to go along with this now.
I also have bad burning sensations on my legs, it feels like the skin is on fire, but to touch they are frozen.
Does anyone know if this can be related to something that might have been overlooked by the dr's? (50 yr old male, sick for 2 yrs)
The dr's don't have any answer for me.
Thank you
