No xrays were taken when I fell, but I know now that I cracked or chipped a bone in my leg. The sore over the bone stayed open and supposedly infection got into the bone.
My doc did NOT do a blood test to confirm infection.... My symptoms read as an infection but I am afraid to take the anti biotics with out knowing if she (Doc) chose the RIGHT kind for MY type of infection. Can anyone tell me what type of anti biotic they were put on? AND for how long? If mine do not help with in 7 days I am supposed to get a bone scan... radio active dye? no thank you....

I am desperate to figure out what is going on with me. I am a 37 year old female and about a week ago I started gettig a sore and stiff feeling in my hips, it has progressed rapidly to my ankles (now slightly swollen) also my knees and shoulders and elbow joints. What could cause such pain in all my joints. I can not imagine it is arthritis at my age and so sudden. Could it be a pinched nerve or a virus? it seems to be the worse when i am laying in bed at night and unbearable when rising in the morning. I cannot sleep because of the pain. It does seem to get slightly better when I am up walking around. Any ideas?

I had been a heavey smoker for about 10 years, but I quit when I got prangnent. I recently had a craving for a cigg so I got one, but for some reason when I took my first puff I started choking on it. Why is this? I had quit for about a year, and I had never choked before, not even when I first started. So why did I this time?

I just fell down the last two stairs at my job, hitting my shin on one stair, both knees on the floor & of course my wrists hurt due to blocking my fall. My Sergeant saw this and has to fill out an accident report...how embarrassing...I just slammed my thumb in my trunk like 2-3 days ago..now my nail is swollen & black.. it seems as though if something can happen, it will especially to me. Anyone else out there like me or am I the only clutz ??

have you noticed that you only stub your toes when your not wearing shoes/boots/slippers etc. Its always when your in your socks or barefoot. I did it again last night when I got out the bath and my hubby said...Have you ever stubbed you toe in your shoes.....and the answer is: No. Anyone else only ever do it when your foot is shoeless?

I am a registered nurse and training naturpath and herbalist, but I am stumped. My big left toe is killing me, right in the joint area, it aches at the end of the day, dull ache with some sharp stabbing pains in the joint area.It hurts and aches when I point it downwards. There dosnt appear to be any swelling or redness. Started about 7 days ago, come and goes, might be good one day and then bad the next. It started during a 3km walk the other day and I had to limp home. Strong family history of athritis and gout. I am debating if to go to the doc.. i know they are just going to say, " get some panadol". Anyone got any ideas?

I was having a bath and from a horizontal position, raised my back and head upwards. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain building up and was located in a central area of my chest or breast bone. Almost like a spasm or kind of strain or muscle cramp. Do you think one can get cramp or strains in this region of the upper chest? My heart has never felt weak and I am generally very fit. Does worry me, heard of stories this may happen before a heart attack! Any advice or tips welcome.

I have severe to moderate upper back and neck pain since I was in high school. I have seen a few doctors about it but all they do is give me pain pills and often see nothing wrong. I have seen a few chiropractors as well consistantly, which helps for maybe a day but when I wake up the next morning I'm in pain again. I am 23 years old and it already has progressed to a state that it will at times interfere with normal everyday activities and now it is starting to effect my shoulders (it almost feels like they are slightly out of joint and pinching a nerve and the pain just shoots down my arm). I am very petite; 5'4'' and weigh 103pds so I know it's not a weight issue and It is not caused by large breasts either. Does anyone know any doctors, exercises, or surgeries I could look into. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any advise would be greatly appreciated : )

I had woken up during my c-section, with my second son. This traumatized me, and to this day, I hate having to go through surgery, where they put me under.
The doctor explained to me that they had given me two different types of drugs for the surgery. One was to put me out, and the other was a muscle relaxer. Well, the drug to put me out, wore off quicker, and I was lying there, fully awake, as they were stitching me up, and I could feel everything! I was screaming and trying to move, and nothing happened. I could hear the doctors, nurses, the machines behind me, and I tell you, I fought long and hard to get someone's attention, just to feel a crushing feeling on my chest. My heart quit beating, and there was this pressure in my chest. I screamed, to myself, to "BREATHE!! BREATHE!!" and I told myself this, over and over, and I felt a tube go down my throat, and this cold air blowing in, and I started breathing again. This alarm went off, and I could hear them shuffling around! Scary!
