General Health Care - December 2006

I been to the surgen several times still have pain on the top of the foot.It still swells up quite abit.I have a screw in the big toe and also a pin thats sticking out.The pin is going to get removed next week.Im scared to death if its going to hurt when they take it out?Its been 5 weeks since I had surgery.

My doctor said that if two weeks of anti-inflammatories doesn't work, that he will have me get an MRI of my foot and then possibly give me an injection of cortisone where the pain is. Nothing showed up on the Xray. Well, that NOTHING really hurts...

Is the cortisone shot painful? Does it work?

This has only been happening for 4 weeks. The big joint where thumb meets web of hand has been popping loose. It happens with really mundane things like tying my shoe or getting keys out of coat pocket. It doesn't always happen, maybe once or twice a day.

Since this has started, the other joint just below the nail, has become stiff and inflexible. Now that joint seems arthritic because of stiffness, but the one below is loose, oddly enough.

There is no pain. Only when it pops out, and I have to re-align it, there is briefly some pain, but it goes away.

I take Aleve morning and night now. I'm just worried that this won't heal and will lead to bigger problem. I'm trying to find some clues as to what could possibly be wrong. I don't have health insurance, and so I'd like to avoid going to a specialist at this point. I'd like to try to find some answers and remedies myself, if possible. I'm 42 male.

Now that I'm pretty sure I have TMJ in my right jaw.. which has been the cause of a persistant pain for about 2 or 3 years now (I'm just 18). I have a question. My facial features are pretty asymettric. My bite is uneven which I think causes my entire jaw to be sort of lopsided. I blame this on bad posture from using a computer every day for hours on end. I also had braces, though. And even they didn't make my bite even. So I'm wondering, does TMJ get caused by bad posture or some genetic defect? It would be nice to correct my bite and get rid of the pain.

Today at work I felt really warm and slightly dizzy so I went to my mom and she took my blood pressure which was 157/92 and normally it is 170/20. Also my blood sugar was low. I am a Nursing student. But, I really have never had this happen before... It has been over 2 hours since I came home early from work and everytime I stand up I get like a rush to my hed and a big headache. My dad is bringing me something to eat...maybe that will help. Any ideas?

Hi. I work at a company that has no sick or personal days. I need to be home (5 hours from where I live) to be with my mother for surgery. Recovery time may take awhile. My employer suggest Family Medical leave. Which means no income during this time. I am not in a financial situation to take this kind of leave. Other people at work who have been in the same situation suggested I go see my family physician and explain to them that I am under alot of stress due to everything that is happening in regards to my moms health. My dad is also sick. I work a 7 day rotating schedule.
My question is: How do I ask my Dr for stress leave? Thanks.

Last week I was at school and we had a bomb threat and we all went into the gym. We were there for more than 5 hours and i had to go pee so bad and i didn't feel it coming and i went all over the bleachers. Ever since then i all of a sudden feel these pushes against my bladder and pee everywhere. I wet the bed every night. Do i need diapers??? My hip and knee have been killing me for a long time. My class is going on a field trip tomorrow to an amusement park. If my hip or knee happens to hurt to much(like i cant walk) what do i do?
