have you noticed that you only stub your toes when your not wearing shoes/boots/slippers etc. Its always when your in your socks or barefoot. I did it again last night when I got out the bath and my hubby said...Have you ever stubbed you toe in your shoes.....and the answer is: No. Anyone else only ever do it when your foot is shoeless?

A few months ago I was walking from the bathroom having just had a shower and as I walked into the bedroom I stupidly kicked the doorframe in my barefeet....several swear words later and a throbbing and bruised little toe I was asking myself the exact same question!

I've stubbed my toe both with shoes and without them. The obvious thing is, it's worse when you have no shoes on. When I walk without shoes, my stride is less forceful and I walk more lightly, but when you stub your toe on something like a bed post, or something of the sort, it hurts like hell and will hurt for a long time after. When I wear my boots at work, I walk with a more determined stride, holding a lot of power behind my steps. The problem with this is, it hurts nearly just as bad as if I were to do it without shoes, with a less powerful walk. Even though they are steel tipped boots, it still doesn't protect against the hard slam of the foot into something like... a large block of steel just lying around on the job site.

Moral of the story, watch where you are going!

How can you possibly stub your toe if you have shoes on?? Don't shoes protect your toes from getting stubbed??
