uhh, for those that want to answer child birth, try passing kidney stones without sedation and not being able to urinate for hours. last time I checked, most women opt for drugs when delivering.

I should add that I was upchucking and dry heaving from the pain, which I never experienced before and I played linebacker and worked in a steel factory

I had recieved a burn so bad to the back of my leg that it was out side the chart of bern degrees. It was black and leathery and burned down past the muscle. That was not the pain part. The doctor had to remove the dead skin so he tied me down and cut it off with a scalpal with no pain killers, no numbing no nothing. It was like being peeled, I was beeing peeled. It hurt so bad that my reflex took over and I kicked so hard I broke the restraints and re broke my leg. then I passed out. the burn was 7"x 4"
Love those Army doctors

Child Birth..18 hours of labor followed by a c-section. No time for sedation. Ran a spike nail all the way through my foot once. The hole was quite large and the doc inserted a tube for drainage...hurt like the dickins!! Never experienced a kidney stone but I hear they are very painful! Bet my boo boo is worse than your boo boo! LOL

I too gave birth naturally to a big baby, but the pain doesn't hang around long.
But the worst pain I've endured was a motorcycle accident that resulted in my leg being amputated.
Now that wasn't so bad, it was the skin grafts that were the most painful.
The donor site is the worst.
Yes I understand that kidney stones are extremely painful, my mother has had them on two occasions.

Delivering a 10 pound baby, naturally - no medication of any kind. I've had kidney stones, so I can tell you childbirth is ALOT worse. But at least with childbirth you get a baby, not a little piece of calcium!

kidney stones at ages 17, 19, and 20. the second time i was in such serious shock i was in the emergency room, and the nurse couldn't believe that the pain killers were having basically no effect on me. it was about 7 hours of intense pain, and time warped a lot, and i was really out of it.
the other two times it was pretty bad, i nearly blacked out, but boy, i'll remember that particular bout forever...

I broke my ankle while i was eight months pregnant while getting out my car. My seatbelt somehow managed to get wrapped around my foot. The doctor had to relocate my foot while i had no medication in my system. They did surgery on me the next morning, and put nine screws and two plates to put my ankle back to my foot. Had to be in a wheel chair for the rest of my pregnancy. I delivered my baby natural with no pain reducers with a cast on my foot all the way up to the middle of my calf. Yep! This all happened this year. What an amazing 2006.

Passing gallbladder stones and upchucking at the same time also. My back felt like it was breaking into two pieces. Dont want that again, thank goodness.

Severe ear illness requiring minor surgical procedure.Although I was once in severe agony,it was once essential for my ear to be rinsed out with water beneath mild stress. On the dimensions of one million-10 this was once a eight+..That occurred over 50 years in the past and the reminiscence of the agony nonetheless lingers. Second occasion was once whilst present process a colonoscopy after taking a slight sedative. The sensation would be in comparison with having a protracted period of barbed cord driven up my bottom. This was once undoubtedly a ten.

I agree. I have stones every 6 to 8 weeks because of a disease I have. Believe me, I have passed the Hope Diamond several times. It is a puking, gut destroying, knife-slicing time.
Hurts worse than having my leg blown off in the war...and believe me...that smarted like hell!!
My sister has had babies and stones...she says she would have a baby any time rather than another stone.
