My father that is 42 years old has rheumatoid Arthrits. He is on Methotrexate and Predisone. He has had Arthritis for around 3 years I believe, and he has been taking those pills for a while, although he doesn't take them daily, because he knows the danger of them. Will he be ok, can he die??

Please let me know this is bothering me.

I was diagnosed about eighteen months ago following a very serious lung infection (pseudomonal aeruginosa).I spent a total of two months in hospital in an isolation unit, because the disease produced identical symptoms to multi drug resistant tuberculosis. The doctors were fantastic and finally managed to kill the infection just in time before it killed me.Unfortunately,it left behind a horrific legacy in the form of pulmonary fibrosis which is both progressive and incurable. While I have accepted that it is only a matter of time before it kills me,I intend to fight it all the way to the end.I certainly have no intention of laying down and dying just yet!
I get extremely breathless at times at the slightest physical exertion, and terrible chest pains when I try to take deep breaths to couteract it.
But,by far the worst symptom is that I never actually wake up properly anymore, even after a really good sleep.
Has anybody got any advice to help my day to day life please?

I was just wondering, I was diagnosed with asthma, which was a surprise to me.

I stopped taking my medicine because of the side effects. My lungs hurt, particularly my left lung hurts in a certain spot. But basically it seems different spots tend to hurt, almost like the feeling that I remember pneumonia felt like.

I was just wondering if this pain is normal with asthma. It seems my asthma is more about shallow breathing and occasional attacks. But more about shallow breath and sometimes some pain. Does that sound like your asthma?

Btw I did work out today and breathed somewhat heavily. Could that have created some pain?

Thanks.

I have had this cough that has turned into a cold/flu weird combo of the 2. I got the cough from having an active MRI, the drugs that were administered via the IV. I had the coughing reaction almost immediately after the drugs were administered. How can I get rid of this? I have tried cough syrup, cough drops, sinus& allergy pills. I am sick of this. My chest & back are killing me and my teeth are hurting everytime I cough.

I have an irritating cough from which I've suffered for some months or even a year or two. It is not painful, just tickly, and seems to come and go. Sometimes I don't cough for a day or more then I have a coughing fit for a few minutes then it's gone again. It is never productive but I seem to have a fairly constant tickle in my lungs. Anyone have any ideas?
