I have had this cough that has turned into a cold/flu weird combo of the 2. I got the cough from having an active MRI, the drugs that were administered via the IV. I had the coughing reaction almost immediately after the drugs were administered. How can I get rid of this? I have tried cough syrup, cough drops, sinus& allergy pills. I am sick of this. My chest & back are killing me and my teeth are hurting everytime I cough.

I had bronchitus for two months and that was hell, i know how you feel, my lungs hurt so much from the coughing, in the end i would just cry from tiredness, I kept going back to the doctor, I had a chest x-ray, my doctors just said it goes away in time, I thought it was never going to go away.
Anyway, yours is much longer, tell your doctor u want a chest x-ray that way he can make sure you don't have any other problems with your lungs.
But the cough will go away.
good luck, i feel for you!

What type of cough is it? Productive, flemmy, tickly, dry...
I would definitely go to the docs.
If you have repeated colds, your immune system may be low. Ensure you get plenty of rest, vitamins & exercise to help build you immun system up. Your doc can do blood tests to check if you have an underlying infection and give you antib's.
I'm assuming you don't smoke, because this can cause a long term cough.
If all the tests results come back ok, and your doc doesn't give you help, it could be psychological?
I hope you feel better soon

You have my sympathy, but why have you waited this long before seeing a doctor, especially as you think it was a medical trigger that started the coughing?
A cough or cold does not last six months. See your doctor now.

It's not the contrast media that they use for MRIs. I don't think a allergy to contrast would last six months without constant exposure to it.Your kidneys filter all of it out within hours. See your doctor, they have the knowledge and acces to whatever is needed to diagnose your problem.

Please go and see a Dr as none of this sounds right and you don't want to leave things too long before getting them checked as it is 6 months is way to long good luck
