Well, there's always the chance that you could get the diseases associated with smoking even from only smoking two or three cigarettes a day, but I think the health risk of such a low tobacco intake would be very minimal and maybe even beneficial. Realistically, I don't know too many people who can get away with only smoking two or three cigarettes a day. Recent brain studies have demonstrated that the brains of smokers an heroine addicts are very similar in the sites of the brain that are affected.

One side note. You can get lung cancer from never having smoked a cigarette in your life from being exposed to radon gas.

Yes, although you are much better off than someone smoking a pack a day. I just quit smoking a couple weeks ago (I smoked about 5 a day for a couple months) and already I'm noticing better lung capacity and stamina.

I believe you can still get lung cancer and get all the other negative effects of smoking even if you smoke just a few a day. I recommend quitting.

I had to go to the hospital after puncturing a hole in my esophagus and I couldn't smoke in the hospital for 5 days and was told not to smoke for a long while after the surgery I had. I couldn't imagine smoking after that surgery.

The answer to this question is not how many you smoke today but how many you will be smoking as time goes on. It is very addictive. It just dosen't effect lungs but your hold body. It causes heart decease and breast cancer. I could go on but I hope you get the picture. Without the people who smoke our hospitals would be would be half full if that. Give it up now before its too late or too difficult.

Depends on what other risk factors you have. To a certain extent, any exposure to tobacco smoke can cause emphysema, COPD, chronic bronchitis. If you have a family history of these illness or cancer, or if you have a preexisting condition like asthma, so much the worse. There really is no such thing as a safe cigarette.....

Most insurance companie considers you a smoker if you smoke more than 2 a day. I'm not sure of the logic behind this, because in my book 2 a day, you are a smoker. But on the other hand these guys run their numbers and the risk must be minimal or they would not take it.

If a person could actually smoke only 2 or 3 cigarettes a day it would probably do little damage but it's like using any kind of addictive drug, your usage will increase.
Stop now while it is still easy (and if it isn't easy to stop, well that should tell you something)

not really, u are a very mild smoker.
smoking drains vitamin C from the body along with other vitamins.
Get u some vitamin C.
1 cigarette destroys 100 mg of c from body, so if u smoke
a pack take 2000 mg.
alot of folks get lung cancer and never smoked in their lives but
yet they own a cat and the cat hairs get into lungs.
U should be okay.

When a smoker cuts back on smoking, it still effects them if they were still smoking the same amount of cigarettes as they previously were and they can still get lung cancer.

The only way to stop these effects is to quite smoking completely.

Second hand smoke is considered dangerous, so any amount of direct smoke can be considered dangerous.

There are also genetic factors and you should consider if other members of you family have suffered from cancer.

I know that quitting can be a very hard thing but I think you'll be glad that you at least tried.
