I take care of a parent with COPD and Emphysema. The FDA has approved a relatively new medication that came out for COPD and Emphysema, it's called Spirivia.

It's taken once daily, and after only using it for 3 days I can tell a difference in her breathing already.

It does not replace your fast acting inhalers like Xopenex or Albuterol which is good for those times you start gasping for air.

You might need to consult your Dr. about a home Nebulizer as well.

hey google,

while its unfortunate that you have already had some lung disease, its good that you have caught it early. you just have "mild" restrictive & obstructive at this point, which is good. i hope you do not smoke! (anymore). the medications should help your lung capacity and ability to walk around & mobilize. so take that medication as prescribed! if you do smoke, you will do much more damage than if you quit.

Here is some information on COPD support groups, click this link to find one near you physically, or you could find some online.

Hang in there and keep your spiritis up.

The mind and body connection is very powerful.

I will pray for you
