Hello!
I am soo sorry u feel crappy!! Believe me, i can relate!! The first person that answered yr ques. is right in the sense that ears, nose & throat are ALL CONNECTED that is why u should see an ENT specialist doctor! Don't leave it in case it is an ear infection!! (u can get one just by yourself, even just soaking n tub and water gettg in yr ears and u not kno it !-not to scare u but it happend to me one time years ago and my left ears was paining me -walk in clinic told me 'nothing wrong' thn hours later on phone and it felt like someone jabbed a poker in my ear pain wise and blood startd pouring out onto phone cuz the drum blew!! I didnt have hearing for 2 wks!! It was VERY FRIGHTENING AND i thought i would never hear again!!) Soooo don't leave it and see the specialist cuz it's imp and that's what they r there for!!

Also, if u get the 'a-ok' fr doc thn buy "cold FX" !! it has ginseng in it and i am ext tolerant to many of drugstore allergy & cold meds (used to buy Dayquil only thing that workd!!) and now i just get the cold fx-it's truly amazing! & works!!! I m in Canada so i buy it at Shoppers Drug Mart but if u r in States u can prob get it at Walgreens, or even Walmart!

Meantime, try a poutice of lavendar or peppermint to clear passages: lavender4 soothing & restful sleep & peppermint/eucalyptus for clearing congestion!

I hope this is helpful and i truly hope u & yr dad FEEL/GET BETTER!

Cheers!
Blessed be!
Goldie

I spent the last month fighting this same thing. I felt the pressure and just felt crappy but there wasn't any blowing of my nose and there was a strain to talk and more. The worst part is that everything but water had a terrible rotten taste to it for at least 2 weeks. I ended up getting the full blown flu after a bit and that consisted of 104 temperature and alot of sleeping. The only thing that made feel better was cough syrup (lots of it) with a mix of Tylenol, IB profen and Excedrin migraine. I know it sounds like to much medicine but I was desperate. Good luck and I'm sorry that some else has to live thru all the crap too.

Almost all natural remedy's work-especially teas with hi anti-oxidant's. The most important step however is getting clean air into your passage way's either with steam or by blood anti oxidational (slower). Check your air quality-and if it's low then youll have to change air quality-so that the root cause of sinus congestion is eliminated first, and then the many cure's to fight the bacteria's.. If you live in apolluted environment sinus health suffer's. Desert air might cure your malady

For painful headaches and sinus pain especially, you need to attack the pain at the source. Try a saline nasal RINSE (not a spray.) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It soothes with warmth, it draws out the entire gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean, but without the eye stinging).

Buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot

You can do this as often as you like with no side effects.

You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. If you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis

when I get these symptoms, it's my TMJ acting up. That's a condition of the jaw joint, and can cause hearing loss, headaches, sinus pain, tooth and jaw ache and all the problems you're describing, including swollen glands. You can research TMJ on the web, you will learn alot and be surprised at all the complications.
