I had mine cauterized to stop frequent nose bleeds in the winter. Dry tissues would crack the vessels coming from my sinus floor. I had it done about 10 years ago and maybe have only one a year now. I was very happy with the results after healing. One thing I wish I'd had tried is warm nasal rinse.

A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It soothes with warmth, it draws out the entire gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean, but without the eye stinging).

Buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot

You can do this as often as you like with no side effects.

You don’t need a prescription for this therapy. If you live in a state like mine, they’ve pretty much “outlawed” sudafed medicine. Drug-free is really the way to go on a frequent-use basis

You can only get your nose cauterized while it is bleeding, that is how they know which vessel is not clotting good enough. The bleeding should also be very profuse as in a constant gush. I had a nose bleed for a whole day straight before I went to the doctor to have it done. It is a very simple procedure and not very painful. But it is very weird because you can't sneeze after they do it. The whole point is so you scab up and naturally when something is put in your nose you want to sneeze after but you can't. It is kind of uncomfortable in that sense. Also you should only have a doctor do it.

I can only assume this is because a doctor has recommended it for recurrent nose bleeds. You have given no detail to help me answer. If that is the case listen to your medical adviser.

Only if you have constant and unremitting nosebleeds.
